Salarying book 2 in the D.I. Murphy and D S Rossi Series by Luca Veste set on #Merseyside #SeparatedByAPondTour. Loved the first book. Thanks for @TrishB for bringing these to my attention.

EadieB @Andrew65 I need to read this soon too! 5y
Andrew65 @EadieB 50 pages in and loving it so far! Fast paced, action, dialogue, great characters, use of humour! Great for Merseyside for the tour. 5y
EadieB @Andrew65 Sounds good! 5y

eanderson Sounds good! May need to look into this series! 5y
Andrew65 @eanderson Would certainly recommend it. 5y
TrishB A great series 👍🏻 5y
gradcat I believe I should check this one out as well. Have you already posted your thoughts on the second Camilla Lackberg? I don‘t remember seeing it. Anyway, good review + you‘re really speeding through Europe! 😂 5y
Andrew65 @gradcat Thanks, my progress across Europe will slow down as I tick off the popular countries. I read the second Camilla Lackberg in April 2016. I will post my review from then when people read it next month. 5y
Cathythoughts Oh this does sound good ! Stacked 5y
Crazeedi @Andrew65 I'll have to look into this series now, I've got several new ones to get into! Whoohoo! 5y
Andrew65 @Crazeedi Another excellent series. 5y
Andrew65 @TrishB It is and thanks for bringing them to my attention. 5y
TrishB Another great series set in Liverpool starts with this one, don‘t know if you know this one? 5y
Andrew65 @TrishB I have seen it but not read it yet, the Liver building on the cover gives it away. Thanks 👍 5y
gradcat @Andrew65 Oh, right! I sort of forgot the buddy read formula! I look forward to reading your review then. 😊 5y

I just loved it! 🥰 The Scouse humour and dialect was boss and very close to home 😊 loved reading a book where I knew all the areas etc it's a great series. That ending was too much 😢

suzie.reads @MicheleinPhilly it was really sad got the next book ready to read 5y
MicheleinPhilly I read the next one immediately after. Trying to hold off on the 4th for a bit but the temptation is strong! 5y
suzie.reads @MicheleinPhilly I spread out my series reading the next book in the David Jacksom series next 5y
MicheleinPhilly I have to start that series. 5y
suzie.reads @MicheleinPhilly I think its slightly better than the Luca Veste series but the scouse humour is more evident in these. 5y

This cracked me up 😂 Scouse-o-meter 😂
Jamie Carragher scouse 👌🏼

Velvetfur Hahaha! I'd just like to point out, as a Scouser who's lost her accent by now, that Mel C is not a Scouser, she from Widnes (so I'm told) 😂😂 (I'm chuckling away at all this btw!) 5y
suzie.reads @Velvetfur she was born in Whiston same as Stevie G but that's the point of the comment I think. Plastic scouse to proper scouser. 5y
Velvetfur @suzie.reads Erm, I'd like to also point out that although I know the names Stevie G and Jamie Caragher, I don't know anything about them...! Stevie is a footballer I believe (Steven Gerrard??) and Jamie.....I will have to assume he's a footballer too....😂 5y

suzie.reads @Velvetfur yeah they both played for Liverpool 😂 5y
Velvetfur @suzie.reads OK thanks! I never cared for football 😂 Oh and I stand corrected about Mel C's origins too, something else I never paid much attention to 😂 5y
suzie.reads @Velvetfur I don't even know how I know that fact 😂 I don't even like the spice girls haha 5y

This cracked me up kids have definitely become more scouse, don't know where its come from 😂 loving this book already ❤

TrishB My daughter is so scouse, told her if she goes away to uni she‘ll have to practice talking slowly. Love this series! 5y
suzie.reads @TrishB it makes me laugh how scouse some people are now. Loving this book so far, hubby is from West Derby aswell, I automatically feel connected to the book 😊 5y
TrishB My hubby from West Derby too! (edited) 5y

Book #2 in the Murphy and Rossi series. Love the dynamic between the leads as well those with the secondary characters. I also love how unabashedly Liverpudlian this series is even though I‘ve never been. That ending though. 😭 4🌟

suzie.reads This is one of my tbr books this month can't wait for it. Set in my hometown 😊 5y
TrishB Can‘t wait for you to visit 😁 5y
MicheleinPhilly @TrishB My wife and I have been discussing. ☺️ 5y

TrishB Oh how fab 😁😁 5y
MicheleinPhilly @TrishB I doubt it would be anytime soon as we have certain travel obligations. I should just book something and surprise her with it. I‘ve done that before but never overseas. “Babe, I spent an obscene amount of money so we could sit in the 3rd row to see my fantasy wife in a play. We‘ll be spending Christmas in NY.” She was initially 🙄 but she got over it. ☺️ 5y
TrishB Lol 😁 the gift to end all gifts! 5y
MicheleinPhilly @TrishB She basically sat looking at me through the play like 😒 because I was 😍. 😂 5y

Good crime novel. Like the MCs, crime solving was good, relationships developing interestingly and ended on a big twist!
Weird reading something set in your home city though, I knew everywhere in this! Do people outside Liverpool understand the dialect in the book? Not sure about that.

Cinfhen I‘m often thrown by British slang in books 7y
TrishB @Cinfhen this is even more extreme as scouse (Liverpool dialect) is difficult to understand when spoken- never mind written down! 7y
Cinfhen I‘ll be skipping this then, but I do love a book that has a local vibe. I read a book that I really didn‘t care for but because it was set in my neighborhood and I knew EVERY location it made the read almost personal 7y

Swe_Eva If I come across a tricky dialect, I try to find someone (YouTube tends to be helpful) and listen a while and then read part of the book aloud until I've "caught on." If it's a really tricky one, I'll just go with the audio book since written dialect is harder to decipher than spoken. 7y
TrishB @Cinfhen I definitely liked that about the book! Knowing every corner does make it personal! 7y
TrishB @Swe_Eva that‘s a good idea! I obviously wasn‘t struggling with this one as it‘s my own accent - but I did wonder how others would find it! 7y
CarolynM I often struggle with phonetic dialogue in books, even when it represents my own accent! I get why writers do it, I just find it so much harder to read. 7y
TrishB @CarolynM I agree- it can become very difficult! 7y

Quick lunch time read. I was reminded of this series by @andrew61 yesterday, I‘ve read number 1, but have 1-4 on the pile. Crime thrillers set in Liverpool, author is an alumni of the Uni.
Probably be only reading today as straight to the match from work. Semi final, Champions League 😱😱 big game.

Balibee146 Have fun xx 7y
arlenefinnigan What a result! Meanwhile I wish I'd stayed at home reading about owls. Oldham are going down 😢 7y
Cathythoughts Yes ! Have fun at the match... I hope your team wins 👍🏻 7y
TrishB @arlenefinnigan 😔 awww. 7y
