Titans
Titans | Leila Meacham
A sweeping new drama from the beloved, bestselling author of Roses. Texas in the early 1900s, its inhabitants still traveling by horseback and barely familiar with the telephone, was on the cusp of an oil boom that, unbeknownst to its residents, would spark a period of dramatic changes and economic growth. In the midst of this transformative time in Southern history, two unforgettable characters emerge and find their fates irrevocably intertwined: Samantha Gordon, the privileged heiress to the sprawling Las Tres Lomas cattle ranch near Fort Worth, and Nathan Holloway, a sweet-natured and charming farm boy from far north Texas. As changes sweep the rustic countryside, Samantha and Nathan's connection drives this narrative compulsively forward as they love, lose, and betray. In this grand yet intimate novel, Meacham once again delivers a heartfelt, big-canvas story full of surprising twists and deep emotional resonance.

Titans is a riveting novel that captures the essence of the early days of the Texas oil boom. Meacham‘s characters, as always, have depth and her story development is outstanding given the multiple story lines in this novel. I love how the characters and their lives intertwined, it made a good solid enjoyable read.

💘Who is your fictional boyfriend/girlfriend? 💘I was feeling inspired by romance and femininity last night. I‘m not a huge typical romance reader, but I do love a good love story. The Dinner List is my next read and I‘m told it has a wonderful love story. The Titans from Lelia Meacham is one of my favorite love stories. Takes place in the south and interweaves many wonderful stories together. The book is large, but book I didn‘t want it to end.

This book! Highly recommend! First off, I love her writing. Secondly, the way she connects and weaves the story is incredible. Southern family story with love, loss, and farm. Where can you go wrong? There‘s so much to this novel to include in a review on Litsy. Check her out. This is my first book I‘ve read of hers, but have recently tried the others and have no been disappointed. Perfect for summer.

LibrarianRyan I didn't realize she had a third book out. Thanks. 6y

This reminds me of spring just like this book! I love everything she writes. She reminds me of Alice Hoffmann, but with a little less magic. Recommended!

Finished this - it's a twisty historical family saga set in Texas in 1900. Good book, but I thought there were parts that were left unresolved, which was disappointing. #ProjectKindle

I've never read Leila Meacham, have any of you? I think I'll dive in with this one. My last book haul from the weekend, paperbacks!

LeahBergen Pretty photo! 7y
Sydsavvy @LeahBergen thanks! Have you been tempted by her books at all? 7y
LeahBergen I took a quick peek into Roses at a bookshop (because you know... Texan epic and all ?) but I was a bit "meh" about the beginning. You'll have to let me know what you think! 7y
Sydsavvy @LeahBergen me, too! This one might lure me in though, we shall see. I'm surprised she has no audio books though, that is a disappointment. Seems to be the norm for Texas books. 7y
BookswithTea I picked up Somerset a few months ago but haven't read it yet! 7y

Historical Texas oil families. There's a twist that puts different ranches closer than they think. Good Texan oil history and scientific history of Texan soil.
