Feared: A Rosato & DiNunzio Novel | Lisa Scottoline
12 posts | 15 read | 6 to read
In the new thriller from New York Times bestselling author Lisa Scottoline, Mary DiNunzios ruthless nemesis Nick Machiavelli is back...with a vengeance. When three men announce that they are suing the Rosato & DiNunzio law firm for reverse sex discriminationclaiming that they were not hired because they were menMary DiNunzio and Bennie Rosato are outraged. To make matters worse, their one male employee, John Foxman, intends to resign, claiming that there is some truth to this case. The plaintiffs lawyer is Nick Machiavelli, who has already lost to Mary once and is now back with a vengeance determined not to not only win, but destroy the firm. It soon becomes clear that Machiavelli will do anything in his power to achieve his end...even after the case turns deadly. The stakes have never been higher for Mary and her associates as they try to keep Machiavelli at bay, solve a murder, and save the law firm they love...or they could lose everything theyve worked for. Told with Scottoline's trademark gift for twists, turns, heart, and humanity, this latest thriller asks the question: Is it better to be loved, or feared... Feared, the sixth entry in the acclaimed Rosato & DiNunzio series, expertly explores what happens when we are tempted to give in to our own inner darkness. Praise for the Rosato & DiNunzio series: "Plot twists aplenty raise the stakes." People Magazine "Exposed is Lisa Scottoline's sweet spot: law, loyalty, trust, and of course, family." Brad Meltzer "Fastpaced, heart-tugging...readers will enjoy seeing how it all plays out." Publishers Weekly on Exposed A gripping thriller...Exposed wraps up with a demolition-derby doozy of an ending that will leave you shaken." The Washington Post "The final curtain will find you cheering, and Scottoline will have earned every hurrah." Kirkus (starred review) on Exposed "[The Rosato and DiNunzio stories] are always her best works and this newest is the best of the best in this series." Huffington Post on Exposed Outstanding...Tensions mount until the story concludes with a satisfying, unexpected twist. Publishers Weekly (starred review) on Damaged Scottolines merging of the themes of her family-driven stand-alone thrillers with her ongoing legal series continues to work splendidly. I had been wanting to try a Lisa Scottoline thriller so I found this one at the library. It has lots of praise from well known authors and a reverse discrimination lawsuit in the plot so I had high hopes for it. I finished it to know what happened and it was an easy read, but it was too cheesy, dramatic and stereotypical for my taste. I‘ll pass on reading anymore of her books. Since I finished it, I‘m giving it 2/5 ⭐️s.

Great installment in the Rosatto series!! This one brings the law firm under fire for reverse discrimination. They peel back each layer to find out who is ultimately behind it. A very enjoyable read with ALL the feels.

Having lunch with my MIL today at her assisted living facility and there were books on this little library cart I was tempted to borrow. I don‘t think these books are intended for outsiders though, so I resisted. They have carts scattered all over the building as well as walls of book shelves! Too bad my MIL doesn‘t read much due to her eyesight.

Reviewsbylola She needs to do some audiobooking. 6y
Mdargusch I agree @Reviewsbylola but I knew it would be a losing battle if I brought it up. 6y

Good book. I have been so busy this week, I only read this one. I hate weeks like that.

Whether you're an established fan of Lisa Scottoline's Rosato & DiNunzio series or a first-time reader, Feared will keep you on the edge of your seat, and laughing all the way to the shocking conclusion. Scottoline never disappoints. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ #NetGalley #SoManyBooksSoLittleTime📚📚 #MountTBR

"It is true that there is sexism in society & that women are discriminated against in many professions....History proves that it‘s true, not only in employment. Recent social movements show that it‘s also true in general. It seems like every day there's another hashtag....But of late, it‘s also true that there is discrimination that isn‘t talked about as much — & that‘s reverse discrimination against men." I'm a civil rts atty ... & intrigued. ?

This book left me with a warm feeling in my heart. There are several memorable characters in the story. There is something for everyone - strong female friendships, murder, suspense, family bonds. With several threads running through it, the plot gets a bit complex. Scottoline is a master at character development.

Feared is a great book on its own and tantalizingly enough to wet my appetite for more of her books. I will be adding the previous five books in this series to my summer reading. #netgalley #feared #lisascottoline #mustread see full review at thejwordpress.wordpress.com
