Pickpick

I picked this up on a whim at the library a few weeks ago. I‘ve been intrigued by Ayurveda, and this book was a great place to start. It focuses more on practices rather than a complete understanding of the doshas, you would have to look elsewhere for that. A few practices I already do, some I disagree with (using 🥥 oil as sunscreen), and others I plan on trying out!

#nonfiction2019 : something you weren‘t looking for

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Sounds intriguing! And yes, isn‘t it great when something just falls into your lap. 6y
alisiakae @Riveted_Reader_Melissa It is! The beautiful cover just popped out when I was browsing the library shelves. I took a ton of 📝 while reading for later reference! 6y
Stacy_31 Stacked! I have been fascinated with Ayurveda for quite some time. 6y
alisiakae @Stacy_31 Me too! I‘m most interested in incorporating Ayurveda into my yoga practice, and this book has a section that explains some asanas in the context of Ayurveda! 6y
Stacy_31 Oh how funny! I had a yoga instructor years ago who incorporated Ayurveda into her lessons, which is how I became interested in it. 😂😂 6y

I can finally see properly again! Took off the nausea patch earlier, and the blurry vision is almost gone. I can read again!

I‘ve been wanting to learn more about Ayurveda, and found this book at the library recently. I‘ve been skimming it off and on this afternoon and really like it! It consists of 108 Ayurvedic practices, so it‘s an easy book to read a bit and then put down, because I don‘t have a lot of stamina for anything right now!

Crinoline_Laphroaig I find Ayurveda so fascinating. I'm currently seeing a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist to help with some issues I'm having. I feel so much better when I follow Ayurvedic eating suggestions. 6y
alisiakae @Crinoline_Laphroaig That‘s wonderful it has helped you! I‘m realizing I do a lot of the Ayurvedic practices already, but I‘m learning about some that I would like to try out. 6y

How silly of me to think I would only bring along 1 book for a 5 day trip. 😂 📚 This is my final stack!

julesG Have a good trip. 6y
Cinfhen Enjoy😘safe travels 6y
alisiakae @julesG Thanks! Nothing too exciting, just a few days in Atlanta. We had to cancel our planned spring break trip so I can have my surgery while hubby is off work, this jaunt was the consolation. But it should be fun!Aquarium, zoo, botanical gardens, MLK Jr national historic site, we‘re hoping to do lots of fun stuff! 6y

alisiakae @Cinfhen Thank you! I couldn‘t give up spring break completely, so we‘re getting home less than 12 hours before I head to the OR. 😂 6y
Cinfhen Seems like the best idea ever!!! Pre trip fun before recovery. 6y
Cinfhen Will you be out of hospital for Passover??? 6y
alisiakae @Cinfhen Yes! It‘s outpatient, since I am having it done laparoscopically. Although I may regret the piles of post-vacation laundry and empty fridge afterwards. Won‘t be allowed to lift laundry baskets, push grocery carts or any activity other than walking for 4 weeks. Thank god for Amazon Prime Now! And a supportive hubby. 😃 6y
MallenNC Good luck with your procedure and have a fun trip to Atlanta. One of my good friends lives down there so I‘ve visited a lot. It‘s a fun place! 6y
