A new favorite play
Bought this for $3.00, having no idea what it was, just knowing Dylan Thomas from A Child's Christmas in Wales. I'm not a big fan of *reading* plays or scripts, because that's not the point of them, so I found the 1954 BBC recording with Richard Burton and I'm going to read along while the music of the Welsh tongues play. Lovely.
Like Our Town but saucier and Welsh. Clever, lyrical, poetic, evocative. With narrators and an abundant cast of characters, Thomas makes sure you get the full experience of a night and day in this small, forgotten town.
