1. The MC‘s character development and how I was able to root for her every step of the way. That‘s the reason why I felt every bit of tension in the story despite the book‘s obvious flaws.
2. I wish that there was even more to the mystery rather than what was revealed at the end. So maybe a sequel could‘ve had an even bigger twist waiting to be unfolded and causing more trouble in the ship.

These are the two books I read this month. Enjoyed both of them so that alone makes it worth a good reading month for me 🥰 at the end of the day, it‘s quality over quantity!

Book 47🎧 3.5⭐️

I wished this one had a little more depth, but over all I enjoyed it!

A virus from Earth has come back and has taken out the entire fleet on this starship. All that is left are the children, supposably immune. When they also slowly start dying, they must take control and try to survive while they figure out if it has mutated… or if there is a murderer among them.

I know you guys are probably tired of seeing TSS quotes but I couldn‘t move on from it without sharing these last two quotes. Here‘s one of them, and I‘m glad to see another fellow author bring in a positive message against fear. #fearisaliar

This review is gonna sound negative…but just know that I enjoyed the VAST majority of this book. I ADORE Olson‘s writing style and Lindley as an MC. This book kept me at the edge of my seat and I felt every bit of tension in the story. I was about to give it an 8. But…that last 10% What was that? It‘s almost as if Olson herself didn‘t know the truth behind the mystery OR how it was gonna end so she kind of…flew through it just to get it over with

Okay…I‘m gonna rant a little bit 🥰
I know I‘m only 30% into this but that‘s enough time for me to decide that I am loving this so far and I am super invested in the story. The fact that this book has a 3.50 avg rating on Goodreads and a 40% avg rating on here BAFFLES me. People need to be a little more open-minded with books instead of hearing the phrase “love triangle” and instantly going 🤮. Remember Twilight? That‘s love triangle too. 🤷‍♂️

I grabbed this because I wanted a fun sci-fi adventure book to help me recover from Female of the Species.
And this is the first page…

A slow starter but it gradually builds into a very good YA sci-if thriller. It was so entertaining I didn‘t even mind the ubiquitous love triangle. On the downside, although the six central characters were quite well-fleshed out, the reader doesn‘t learn much about the others which means it‘s difficult to care when they were killed off. An entertaining 4🌟

All this book did was reaffirm my fears of being the one in charge! 😅 Honestly though, didn't really care about any of the characters, the love triangle was completely unnecessary, and I called the reveal extremely early.

The novel is in turns wistful and poetic. Filled with interesting characters and difficult scenarios, this debut is designed to leave readers thinking.
