This YA fantasy starts fast & just keeps going. The elements of the story are simple—older sister (Isoka) with magical abilities lives a hard, violent life in order to protect her younger sister from a similar fate, Emperor‘s minions find Isoka & give her a nearly impossible task to achieve in exchange for her sister‘s life. Where the book shines is the worldbuilding, setting in particular, & a quirky, interesting set of characters. A good read.

It‘s swords and sorcery for some rainy day reading today. ⚔️ ✨🌧

I love this. I don't know why, but I do. Also, SHIP-ping the main couple so hard 😍 Really, I'm not sure what's going on with me 😅

I didn‘t like this as much as his Forbidden Library series but it‘s still good. I‘m looking forward to Isoka‘s next adventures as this trilogy progresses.

I‘ve been in a reading slump, so I honestly haven‘t read a lot the past week. But I‘m hoping that‘ll change soon cause I miss actually wanting to read.
