Bretonische Geheimnisse
Bretonische Geheimnisse: Kommissar Dupins siebter Fall | Jean-Luc Bannalec
10 posts | 6 read

Commissaire Dupin faces another wild & wildly complicated investigation in Brittany. He speaks of his love for the Breton artist, Maxine Maufra,a painter I have never heard of. I love when I discover something new in a book & the excitement I feel as I delve into that subject.

Cuilin I love when that happens, I had to look up some other paintings, they‘re quite beautiful. Thanks for posting. 4mo

Another glorious morning. Blue skies, a scattering of white clouds, soft breeze, bird song. I can hear a nearby house finch. My chimes are gently clanging. The grass was just cut. I love the fresh cut grass smell! I am full of gratitude. #porchlife #grateful #birdsong #ABrittanyMystery #coffeeandbooks

Tamra Reminds me of the grandfather in Bradbury‘s Dandelion, he was adamant about not having the new fangled short grass that would never need mowing bc he loved that smell. 😁 Me too. 4mo

Cloudy, soft breeze, some humidity. Savoring quiet & coffee & a book before the day starts. Cooking with Robert, Fiesta Chicken, for our annual soccer Chicken Bake Off tournament. The prize? The winner gets to keep our golden rooster for 1 year, until the next season‘s Bake off. We have this tournament at our last home game. It‘s such fun! 🐓 🏆 ⚽️🏟️ #coffeeandbooks #chickenbakeoff #HCFC #HartfordCityFootballClub #AgentsofHale #porchlife

Tonight I am traveling to the Forest of Broceliande, the land of King Arthur and his Round Table with Commissaire Dupin. Aren‘t the end papers pretty? I love the white stag superimposed on the green of the forest. #ABrittanyMystery #KingArthurlegends #librarybook

Mehso-so

I really enjoyed the literary theme of this crime novel centering around the arthurian legend and it‘s breton roots. It was however a bit crammed, stuffing a 24hr plot into a 14hr audiobook. Comissaire Dupin and his team are, howrver, as relatable as ever in the series seventh installment. #audiobookvacation

Got up super early today for a spontaneous long weekend with my parents for my father‘s birthday. When not nodding off uncomfortably in the back seat the 7hr drive actually got me quite a way into this arthurian legend inspired crime novel

I‘m always a bit biased with this series because I feel like he tries a bit to write like Walker and also there‘s too much conversation in the writing for my liking. But this one I liked a lot! It‘s a completely different setting with the fairy-forest, the Arthus-Saga and the scientists-world and there are also a couple of little climaxes in the story.
