Well! With an ending like that, I'm exceptionally glad there's a follow up series. First volume of Ascender immediately placed on hold at my library. I do appreciate the message(s) that came with this ending, with this series really, and I recognize it wouldn't have been as impactful with a fluffier conclusion. Sincerely hoping I'll see all the characters I fell in love with again. Enthused to witness the shift from sci-fi to sci-fi fantasy.

#SeriesRead2022 @TheSpineView

Incredible ending! Gorgeous artwork as usual for this series and the way Lemire brings everything together in such a satisfying conclusion. He also sets up the sequel series, Ascender, which I can't wait to read now.

Boy, was that unexpected! This story has been well-plotted the whole way. The characters were great, too. The science behind the ideas is cool. And the artwork really fits the story

This volume starts with a bit of a backstory of machinekind and the descenders.

It starts off a bit slowly, but gains momentum after about a third the way through.

Tim-21 is caught between machinekind and the humans and both sides want control of him.

Good issue and I'm interested to see what the next volume will bring.

2.5/5⭐ Gorgeous art. However, all that perfect slow build of tension in the last 2 volumes didn't resolve at all. This volume has such a non-ending with too many massive things happening without proper depth. We don't know what happens to most of the characters. The times the Descenders choose to interfere or not seem to be motivated more by plot need than by what makes sense in universe. Too many loose threads, even with the planned continuation.

The entwining of trees and wire vines, the colors...artwork doesn't get much more beautiful than this!

Descender volume 6 (final)

Excellent. One of the very very few sci-fi series I‘ve read, finished, and really enjoyed. I won‘t go into much about this volume, but it was good. I am totally ready for the next series coming out this 2019 - titled Ascender 😁 Bring it! 🤖 ❤️ 📚

So good—a great conclusion to this fantastic comic &, importantly, a promising bridge to Ascender, a new comic which will continue the story at a time when magic has reclaimed the world/universe. Descender is one of the most visually stunning comics I‘ve read. It‘s also a great, really well-written story which, at its core, is about the relationship between man & machine. Fascinating, much to think about & look forward to! Love it!!! Recommended.
