While there are familiar themes, there are some things done particularly well (Gray‘s alcoholism in particular, spot on where some other thrillers don‘t look at anything outside of blackouts and hangovers) and enjoyed that the detective was doing better at following the trail than the drunk woman. Rich people & family secrets add to the twists.
pickIt started off really slow but once it got going I was hooked! And I loved the way the author chose to end the book ❤️ great book for chores and errands 🥰

pickMove over Crawdads, this is the next best southern thriller! The way Gray‘s mother treated her like a child drove me nuts. I raced through this book, needing to know what happened. I thought I figured it out but am glad I didn‘t because it made it so much better. Southern murder mystery full of old and new politics and old skeletons that came to light. I don‘t want to spoil the ending but oh my gosh, just wait for this ending!!Book #49 in 2021
pickAnother great thriller by author of The Bath Haus! Paul disappears one night but wife, Gray was drunk and doesn‘t remember much. Deeply buried family secrets, infidelity, and a solid police investigation. Chilling, twisted, and dark but that‘s how I like my thrillers!
