Enjoyed this- my second to read from her. Interesting storyline-kept me reading. My only criticism is that, like with others, it seems the ending is rushed- to get it wrapped up. I felt like there could have been more details in what all transpired in those last months. But that‘s just me- I still recommend the book and was happy with the outcome. Maybe I just didn‘t want it to end??? I will definitely look for more to read from her.

This book was captivating- the storyline was interesting and pulled me in. Twists and turns/ one of those...what??? And yep it was not what I thought. Kept me reading!

Apples Never Fall | Liane Moriarty

Glad to read Liane Moriarty‘s new book. She weaves a tale like no other and creates characters that are easy to like. A little twist at the end....wasn‘t sure what to think about that....

The Book of Lost Names | Kristin Harmel

I enjoyed this historical fiction. It was action packed and told lots about the lives being lived during WW II. It was my first to read by Kristin Harmel. I‘ll definitely read more of her books. 👍🏻

I enjoyed this- some really crafty thinking on this plot. Lots of information coming from all directions but it begins to fall in place finally. Enjoyed this although some dark topics. I read this in one day!!!

The Guest List | Lucy Foley (Novelist)
Pickpick

Just finished reading this one. My first Lucy Foley- it was a quick read and I liked the fast pace with interesting characters. Also history of the area was in there too. The plot was not an easy one to figure- as “whodunnits” go. I recommend it. I‘ve got “The Invitation” checked out of hers.

This book! Oh, I so loved it! The characters were so real/and complex. There‘s family dynamics and the affects of the war on friends as well as families. Thank goodness no loose ends by the time the book is done. Everything comes together. Tearful last chapters- happy tears/sad tears! Have tissue ready! Look forward to the movie!

Really enjoyed this book and was such a page turner- I finished in 2 days!!! No slow parts to get through! Love the subject matter and the suspense of finding out what happened. I don‘t think this book could disappoint!

Necessary Lies | Diane Chamberlain

This book I would recommend from a history stand point and as a good read. This was really the way it was/is in the rural areas! From what I‘ve grown up hearing.

This was pretty good- but it is a little juvenile- although the consequences are very serious- of the 10 year secret. This made some of the characters annoying- in my opinion. Parts were predictable.....But, all in all, I got caught up the last 1/3 of the story. I would recommend it.

The Stolen Marriage | Diane Chamberlain
Pickpick

I always enjoy Diane Chamberlain- this one has more history included. It was an interesting read most of the time. Also wanted to add that my mom is a Polio survivor so that aspect of the story was interesting....she is from a poor area of West Tennessee. She was afflicted at about 14 months old- has a crippled leg- has lived to be 82. She has a built up shoe, brace and crutch- But is suffering with COPD currently. 😥 Hospice 🙏

Pelican71 My mother also has COPD, full-time oxygen. She was put on the ventilator in May for 10 days after an incident. Prayers for your mom. 6y
Cpg Thank you so much! How‘s your Mom now? 6y
Megabooks I‘m so sorry! You and your mom will be in my thoughts. My mom has polio too. 💜💜 She wears a brace on her left leg. She used to be able to walk with crutches, but when post-polio started in her 50s, she began to use a scooter. 5y

Cpg @Megabooks Thank you! My mom didn‘t get to use a scooter- because of the oxygen- I think she would have too much to worry with to get on and off of a scooter without breaking her neck. 🤦🏼‍♀️ She‘s just recently declining more rapidly with the COPD and is pretty much bed bound- so she doesn‘t even wear her brace anymore- too much for her. Just a sad season of her life now. 😥 5y
Megabooks Oh I am so sorry. My mom is declining more rapidly, too, now that she‘s in her 70s. Many hugs to you and your mom. I understand how hard it is to watch the progression. I hope she does as best she can each day. 💕💕 5y
Cpg @Megabooks Thanks so much! I‘m going to stay with her this weekend- she‘s about 2 hours away. Hope we have a good weekend!!! Just treasuring the moments now! ❤️😍😥 I can‘t imagine life without her- but having grands now- will definitely take up a big part of my heart also!!! 5y
Cpg @Megabooks I cane across this conversation and I hadn‘t told you that my Mom passed in April at 83 years of age. Missing her so much! My sister and I are getting the things ready for an estate sale and then sell her house. 😭😭😭 5y
Megabooks @Cpg I‘m so sorry! You must miss her terribly. 💙💙 I cant imagine what you are going through and know that my thoughts are with you during this difficult time. 5y
Cpg Oh thanks @Megabooks! 5y

Really loved this book. The situations were just so bizarre/ kept me reading. The writer is so detailed and masterful at painting the picture. Also knowing it is a memoir- really makes it interesting yet heartbreaking at times. Have not seen the movie- but the book kept me reading!!!

I really enjoyed this book- the characters were believable and also complex. About half way through- had to have the tissue close by- just really touching! Needed that! It ended rather abruptly to my liking....something‘s left hanging....but I still enjoyed it.

Interesting...not as much of a page turner as “The Girl On the Train”. Agree on too many characters and difficult to get into each one.
