Equal parts moving essays about botany/environmentalism and a stunning, brilliant memoir of growing up in rural Georgia. I blazed through it like a longleaf pine fire. Highly recommend for fans of “An Hour Before Daylight” by President Jimmy Carter and “Pilgrim at Tinker Creek” by Annie Dillard.
Well if you're going to write a memoir about growing up poor in Georgia and also mix it with some ecology - I'm all about that
