I read this while on vacation and it was perfect for that. It's the kind of book that I was able to easily get back into even with extended non-reading periods. I thought I had the mystery figured out pretty early, but I was completely wrong! The story, while somewhat disturbing, was quite suspenseful with a decent twist ending that wrapped up quickly. 3/5⭐️

An easy, intoxicating mystery right here! 😱 On the island in Key West Emmy runs an inn while raising her teenage daughter. Her ex-husband lives in Phoenix, offering parenting help in the form of a bear-like puppy for Leah. It is when they are catching up before Leah's first day at school that their lives take a turn- Leah insisted on a night swim to calm her nerves & next Emmy looks out to where she was on her paddle-board, Leah is gone.
