Finally I managed to re-read my very first Lovecraft ❤️ And I think it was even more intense than the first time. How can Lovecraft turn something incredibly cute (Penguins) into something so scary? Amazing.

This is my #BookSpinBingo board for February ❤ My #BookSpin is my planned re-read of The Mountains of Madness and my #DoubleSpin is a tale set in our region with lots of history to it 😁
Looking forward to playing!

Snatched up a second #BookBingo with the tagged read. Found Lovecraft‘s imagination thought-provoking, in good ways as well as bad. But WOW do I hate his writing style 😖
Well. That was a thing I read.
This story could have been really awesome. An expedition to Antarctica that uncovers all sorts of scariness: giant alien creatures and their giant abandoned ancient ruins, a creepy blob thing that might have ended them, 6 ft tall eyeless albino penguins? Sounds fascinating! Unfortunately, our wordy, annoying narrator chooses to focus on the landscape, weather, and general tedium. 🙄
