I read this because I loved the cover. The cover is the best part though.

It follows a father and son who are tossed together after being estranged. Family secrets start coming to light and the son learns his father is a grave robber. The story is strange, which I didn't mind, but everything is too disjointed and never comes together.

TheAromaofBooks Always sad when the potential is there but the follow-through isn't! 4y

My first audio novel and I just couldn't find anything to like about this book. I hated all the characters. I was hoping for a really gory horror book but it never really got to the level of horror I wanted. Short synopsis: kid's mom dies, goes to live with absentee father, finds out his father is a grave robber, totally cool with it. Becomes school outcast, gets revenge on everyone, side story resolves itself without much excitement.

Anyone read this? It's a strange audio book for me so far & I'm not sure if it would be a better hard copy. Hmm...

In a word "macabre"!! Not for the squeamish. This should have been a DNF, but I had nothing else to listen to and I kept hoping it would have some redeeming message. It really didn't. I just could not see a boy who lost his mother succumbing to a grave robber lifestyle. While I think the writing was very good and well paced, the storyline was ick. This was an audio read but would not recommend.

Day 3 of #riotgrams, one word title: I expected to be disgusted by this book, but I didn't expect it to stick with me for so long.
