Rick Steves Ireland 2015 (2015)
Rick Steves Ireland 2015 (2015) | Rick Steves
7 posts | 1 read
You can count on Rick Steves to tell you what you "really" need to know when traveling in Ireland. With this guide, you can explore lively Dublin, quaint Kilkenny, and the moss-draped ruins of the Ring of Kerry. Navigate meandering back roads that lead to windswept crags on the dramatic Dingle Peninsula. Explore Ireland s revered past by following St. Patrick s footsteps to the Rock of Cashel. Marvel at Newgrange, the mysterious mound older than the pyramids; then connect with today s Irish culture by grabbing a pint at the local pub, enjoying the fiddle music, and jumping into conversations that buzz with brogue. Rick s candid, humorous advice will guide you to good-value hotels and restaurants. He ll help you plan where to go and what to see, depending on the length of your trip. You ll get up-to-date recommendations on what is worth your time and money. More than just reviews and directions, a Rick Steves guidebook is a tour guide in your pocket."

Littens! Visiting Ireland is on the agenda for this year! Any recommendations on what to do and see, bookish or otherwise?

RaimeyGallant I visited last year! It counts even though they didn't let me get off the plane, right? ;) 7y
Dogearedcopy In Dublin, check out the book of Kells at Trinity College; Catch a show at the Abbey Theatre; Take a a drive out to the Cliffs of Moher; Sip to your heart's content on the Whisky Trail (There's a Whisky Trail Museum in Dublin too); See what might be showing at the National Museum; Shop for an Irish cable knit sweater... 7y
ScientistSam @Dogearedcopy lots of great suggestions, thank you! Book of Kells was definitely on the list of course😁 7y

ElenaBaer Just got back from Ireland a week ago !! In Dublin check out the National Leprechaun Museum (not totally a kid thing). They even do nighttime tours for adults only. It's a great way to hear some of the local folk tales. 7y
ElenaBaer Maybe read Nora Roberts Cousin O'Dwyer Trilogy to get you in the right mind set. Starts with 'Dark Witch' 7y
ScientistSam @ElenaBaer wow, that leprechaun museum sounds like fun! And I love the Nora Roberts suggestion, thanks! 7y

One my favorite things to do when stressed at work is check airfare and start thinking about where I want to go on my next vacation. I have been doing that a lot lately so I decided recently that it is time to plan another trip. I am considering Ireland in November over Thanksgiving since I already have a four day weekend. #travel #sizzlinsummerbooks

WhatDeeReads I studied abroad in Ireland. I love every moment of it. 7y
lauralovesbooks1 We just got back from a trip to Ireland in May. It was absolutely incredible. Highly recommend! 7y
Leannr I'm Irish, and in honesty a contended little sigh always escapes me of its own volition when I see that first verdant view of home as I return from a holiday! 7y
