I left out Cinnamon Roll Murder. The bottom 2 on the right are in progress. I‘ll probably finish BlackBerry Pie Murder tonight. 11 read so far, possibly 12. #MarchReads

Having quite a lovely Alcott night with this collection of essays on the March girls. Carmen Maria Machado's comparison of Beth to the heroines of Lurlene McDaniel is A+. #currentlyreading

This was a short but absorbing essay collection about Little Women where each author took on one of the sisters as their focus. My enjoyment of the essays was a little uneven (if Jane Smiley mentioned one more time what she would have done if Amy were her child I was gonna lose it) but I liked the collection overall and thought the authors made some interesting points in their character analyses.

This is a fun, introspective look at the four March sisters. Part of the intention of this book is to humanize the March sisters and to show how there‘s a little bit of each of them in us. The four essays dive into a variety of topics & analyses. I now want to read Machado‘s book, Her Body and Other Parties! Fans of Little Women should try this!

#TIL : May Alcott, Amy IRL, had a painting in a show in Paris. She was a good artist! #NFNov

rubyslippersreads I‘m looking forward to this one. 😊 4y
