I need to buy the first book to start the series. One of those impulsive book buying where I bought the last 3 books without first book in the series because they were on sale and I loved the covers😳🤦🏽♀️😆

pickI can't quite put my finger on what kept me coming back to this series - maybe I'm just a sucker for time travel. This one had a solid whodunnit and I'm enjoying the character development more and more. I'll be looking forward to the next installment in August!
pickThis is book 4 and our accidental time traveling FBI profiler heroine is pretty settled into her early 1800s English life. A forward-thinking Duke as a patron, a handsome gentleman as a love interest, and friends in the Bow Street Runners, the morgue, and now a newspaperman, all help out when a prominent spymaster is found dead with his tongue removed, and she's called upon to solve the murder. A solid entry in the series!
pickNow I'm in a book slump after reading this entire series in the last 2 weeks. Now I have to wait for the next book, which is my least favorite thing to do.

How did you choose this book: I really like the author Julie McElwain, and a lot of people enjoyed this book

pickThis series continues to surprise and entertain me, and I sincerely hope that Kendra Donovan (21st-century American FBI agent) will have many more crimes to solve in 19th-century England in the future.
This was a fast-paced, intriguing murder mystery involving (surprise!) betrayal 🤣 (on several levels) and lots of twists and turns. I especially enjoyed the nerve-racking denouement (which was also a bit heartbreaking). ⬇️⬇️
So excited to FINALLY be able to dive into this one this weekend!! 🎉🎉🎉 I‘ve been wanting to read it since it came out in July but have been too busy with ARCs. My hold came in today at the library, and I can‘t wait to see what Kendra Donovan is up to in this fourth installment of a favorite mystery series.

pickI love this series! Four books in, and I found the mystery in this book and Kendra's efforts to live within the constraints placed on women in the time period still compelling. Already looking forward to the next in the series!

pickAnother amazing story to continue Kendras journey. Have to admit that I sort of saw the ending coming, but there was one plot twist at the end that sent me reeling! I honestly never want this series to end, its so incredibly detailed and twisty that it makes it so enjoyable. I need the next book ASAP! 5/5🌟

Day 3 of #30junebooks is underrated! I think this mystery series about a time traveling FBI profiler stuck in Regency England is underrated. The latest, BETRAYAL IN TIME, can easily be read as a stand-alone if you haven‘t read the series before, bc McElwain does a great job of explaining back story without spoiling anything.
