JennyM Hum...the tagged book?? 5y
GatheringBooks @JennyM it is actually the book in the middle! Kahlil Gibran. It is an exquisitely gorgeous edition that is so beautifully illustrated. 5y

I loved The Glass Palace and am dying to read the Ibis trilogy - sumptuous writing. Peter Hoeg has a new book out which is on my TBR too. And how about this cover of 100 Years of Solitude! #foliobooks #FallintoBooks day 12 #GoldandSilver

erzascarletbookgasm The folio cover is stunning! 7y

Redheadrambles Oh my I just read 100 years and that Folio edition looks great - I assume it's illustrated inside ? 7y
batsy That 100 Years cover is a stunner! I loved Miss Smilla's Sense of Snow and cannot wait for Høeg's new book. 7y
Abailliekaras @LeeRHarry I'll let you know when I start the Ibis trilogy! @LeahBergen @Redheadrambles 😊 I'll post another pic from 100 years. @batsy I saw the new Hoeg at the bookstore the other day & didn't buy it - so restrained! (I *may* have bought some other books though 😉). 7y
Mamashep I need to get to the next book in the Ibis trilogy! 7y
Abailliekaras @Mamashep they're big books! I've just ordered the first one so I can make a start. 😊 7y

This is great historical fiction revolving around the opium wars and the establishment of Hong Kong through intricate connections between Indian, Chinese, and English characters. (Apparently two previous volumes, so this is another one where I read the newest first!)

I was super excited to read the final book of this trilogy, and it did not disappoint. Amitav Ghosh is such a great writer!

This is the third book in the Ibis trilogy about the Opium Wars between British India and China. The books follow a group of characters thrown together on board the Ibis ship, journeying across the Indian Ocean. #somethingforsept #setinasia

Reviewsbylola I read the first book but never continued with the series even though I liked it. 8y
JGadz11 It's really good. The second book sort of dragged on for me, but I loved this one. And when I finished it, I got a job in Hong Kong! (Not based on this book, but the timing was impeccable...) It has been interesting linking this book to the lingering influence of the Opium War in Hong Kong. Fascinating! 8y
Mamashep Read the first book - need to get back to this trilogy! 8y
