Not a Drop to Drink was one of my favorite books many moons ago (when dystopian was all the range). I never got around to read the sequel when it released, but decided to pick it up, and I‘m so glad I did. While it‘s depressing as hell (it is post apocalyptic after all), it is well done and hard to put down. McGinnis pulls no punches, even though I wish she had. 😭😭😭

It‘s been a loooong time since I‘ve read a dystopian and read the first one back in 2013. So far I‘m liking it, despite the dark tone and a thing that just happened that made me sad. @ShyBookOwl #FirstLineFridays

Strong follow up to Not a Drop to Drink. Though I'll refrain from spoilers for the end of book 1, I will say that I was instantly reimmersed into the world of the first novel, one where water is scarce and our protagonist must consider who and when to trust. This novel broadens the setting of the first but maintains the sense of isolation in its main characters. I'm officially a McGinnis fan.
