Mehso-so

I finished listening to Amadis of Gaul on another walk with Luthien today. There were interesting stories in here, but it was incredibly long and repetitive. Amadis is set afloat as a baby and grows up to be the best knight with a love for Oriana that is pure and strong. Yet, we make our way through four books within the book before they are able to be together. In between he fights many battles, conquers many enemies, and makes many friends.

Daisey @Tamra Yes, we‘ve been walking this way almost every day this week and she digs a little more each day. 4mo

Daisey 🎧 One comment on the audio: I‘m so grateful for the LibriVox audio, as I don‘t know that I would have ever made the effort to get through this in print, but it is multiple different narrators for different chapters which doesn‘t make for the smoothest listening experience. 4mo

I‘ve spent several hours the last few days listening to Amadis of Gaul, and I‘m halfway through. I‘ll admit that I‘m not always completely focused on the story, but I do recognize all the main characters now and a lot of the action is repetitive. It‘s clear by now Amadis is the best and his love of Oriana is the strongest and most pure. Still 2 more books to go . . .

Daisey ?: I listened while doing some farm work (disassembling parts of a corn head that went through a fire), walking with Lúthien, driving, and snuggling LaGata this evening.

I listened to a few chapters of this LibriVox recording because Amadis of Gaul is a book of the month choice for the #Reading1001 group and it‘s mentioned so frequently in Don Quixote. Then I decided I should power through the end of Don Quixote first rather than trying to listen to both. I‘s interesting so far, but I need to look up a character list and see what other information I can find for reference.
