Play the Piano
Play the Piano | Charles Bukowski
9 posts | 7 read | 6 to read
Play the Piano introduces Charles Bukowski's poetry from the 1970s. He leads a life full of gambling and booze but also finds love. These poems are full of lechery and romance as he struggles to mature.

"Play The Piano Drunk Like A Percussion Instrument Until The Fingers Begin To Bleed A Bit" by Charles Bukowski. If there has ever been a better book title, I know not of it.

I think Austen focused a bit too much on women playing the #piano. How about the men, Jane??

Also, I seriously don‘t get the whole thing with women have to do this and that and this to be “accomplished”. Like, what does that even mean?!

2BR02B It means "possessing a plethora of useless skills." Nothing marketable or intellectual, though. It's funny that knowing watercolor painting used to make you desirable to the opposite sex, while knowledge of organic chemistry achieved the opposite effect. 7y

LeahBergen I wouldn‘t be considered very good marriage material. 😆 7y
batsy These ladies will definitely have a very extensive OK Cupid profile! #accomplishments 7y

CrowCAH Lovely piano men!!! 😍 7y
Kalalalatja @LeahBergen me neither! I can read and I‘m a decent baker, and that‘s about it. I don‘t think any Austen Hero would settle for that 😂 @batsy just thinking of all that typing makes me tired! 😅 @2BR02B it makes no sense! I would be soooo bored! 7y

Staying in a hotel in Reading, PA. In front of the hotel is this piano, topped with both children and adult books. You are encouraged to play a song, take a book or donate one. It has been there for two years. Love this idea! 📚🎹

Jinjer That's so cool! Have you heard anyone play it? 7y
DivineDiana @Jinjer There was someone playing a bit last night, and I saw some children banging on it today! 😉 7y

I care for you, darling, I love you,
the only reason I fucked L is because you fucked Z and then I fucked R and you fucked N and because you fucked N I had to fuck
Y. But I think of you constantly, I feel you
here in my belly...love I'd call it...so you fucked C and then before I could move you fucked W so I had to fuck D. But
I want you to know that I love you, I think of you constantly, I don't think I've ever loved anybody like I love you.
