This is a very interesting series that I forgot about. It fit a prompt in a book challenge, so I was glad to be able to get back to it!!

It‘s finally warm enough and clear enough to put the padding back on the swing!

This was by far my favourite book in the series. I was able to get thoroughly engrossed in the plot and the characters this time, and the suspense was great. So like, if you kind of liked the first one but weren‘t sure about reading the rest, read AT LEAST this one too. Also James comes back and it is hilarious.

I love this series as it's just so enjoyable. It's about a female detective agency operating undercover in Victorian times. The orange and almond cake is from my mum and sister's tea room!

Laura317 Sounds yummy and the book does too! 8y
DeborahSmall In Italy you can buy an almond and orange pastry in bakeries, they are my favourite. Looks delicious 😍😍 8y
ScorpioBookDreams @DeborahSmall I bet they're absolutely delicious! 8y

My current listen has a magnificent #dressonthecover. Which is funny, because the main character spends most of the book disguised as a boy. #JanuaryReads

Abby-J BTW. This series is kind of great. They're quick reads. It's YA historical mystery/espionage with badass lady characters and a POC main character. (edited) 8y
MarriedtoMrT I loved the first one. It was a favorite the year it came out. Somehow, I never made it further than that one. 8y
