1) I have voted in local,state & presidential elections since I turned 18.Why?Very strong ancestral legacy on both
maternal & paternal sides of my family-citizenship taken seriously-my mom‘s dad emigrated here as an adult in his mid 20s, & my dad‘s grandfather came from Ireland in the late 19th century.

2) This week I have so much to be thankful for:my immediate & extended family, my job, my cats, my friends, my porch

I‘m the parent of a driver now. Not sure if I‘m excited that she can drive her siblings around without me, or terrified that she‘ll drive straight into a tree.

DGRachel May she be a better driver than me. @dsfisher and I are still dumbfounded that the DMV gave me a license on my 16th birthday. I did not do well on my test (or driving there or driving home), but somehow the great state of Florida deemed me roadworthy. 😂 7y

Yossarian @saresmoore The deal was that if she passed in the first try, she could drive herself and date to Junior Prom in two weeks. 7y

Scurvygirl You are so lucky! Mine (18) refuses to get her license. Her boyfriend does but no car. Plus they won‘t take public transportation. About 2 months ago, I flat out refused to be a chauffeur to them anymore. I didn‘t have anyone driving me around at 18... not even 12! 7y

Melli Tell her congrats but also as careful as she may drive it‘s always the other drivers on the road to be careful of. Always be aware of what happening on all sides. I learned this the hard way. 7y

Bookdragon69 I‘m in the same boat!! My 16 yr old son drove to school is his new(to him) car today! 😫😭 He will then drive to his first day of his first job. When I was teaching him to drive, I always told him not to drive like I drive, drive like I tell you. 😉 7y

I rarely give books 5 stars, but I truly enjoyed this book and have read it several times. It‘s also one of my favorite movies. I think I just get captivated by Bev‘s spirit and never wanting to do what everyone thinks she should.

Definitely a way different story than the way the movie played out. I liked this book sometimes and sometimes not so much. I'm glad to have read it though 👏🏼
