I just got this email from Sunshine Coast Library in Australia. I signed up for a digital library card with them on March 12. I just got through borrowing an audiobook from their library. I forgot that they only gave me a temporary borrower ID when I signed up. I understand why they‘re doing this but I thought I would have more time and they said on their website that anyone can sign up for a digital library card from them.
I got this email today from Every Library. I‘m only 1 person. All I did was sign a petition. I didn‘t do anything else but I helped make a difference in another state I don‘t even live in. I‘m happy to hear they‘ll get to keep their library.
Here‘s another petition I found. I don‘t live in New Hampshire but I signed it anyway.

I found another petition to sign. I don‘t live in New Hampshire. I live in Texas so this doesn‘t affect me but I signed the petition anyway. This could happen anywhere not just New Hampshire.

I use Libby but I tend to forget about Hoopla and Kanopy. I use Hoopla to listen to music. I used Kanopy once on Roku. I tried to watch a video from The Great Courses but then I turned it off because I got distracted. I think I would prefer to listen to something from The Great Courses instead of watching it. I looked on Kanopy today and I found some documentaries that I‘m interested in watching.
I took some screenshots from an NPR article. What stands out to me is what the president of Hoopla Digital said. It would definitely affect Libby which I use and I‘m worried about losing access to Libby.
I found another petition to sign to save our libraries from www.change.org. I keep trying not to think about this. I keep telling myself that maybe it‘s not as bad as I think it is but it‘s been keeping me up at night. I already donated 78 cents to an organization fighting for libraries but I still wish I could‘ve donated more money. I hope it‘s not too late to save our libraries and museums.

I just found out about this. I live in Texas. I don‘t live in Missouri but I feel bad for the residents there who have lost access to Libby. There‘s a lot of people like myself who don‘t have transportation and they rely on Libby. He said he defunded Libby to protect children from pornographic material.

I just saw this story today on Facebook that was shared by the American Library Association Facebook page and I thought I would share it here.
I just saw that the Libby app posted this graphic on their Instagram so basically, this means for me that I can keep using Libby. I‘m worried about losing access to Libby. If I can find the books I need to read through Libby then I‘ll use Libby as much as I can and that‘s fine with me. I love Libby.
Overdrive just issued a statement about libraries on Instagram. I rely on Libby because I can‘t drive to a library and I don‘t know how to drive so I use Libby and I can‘t constantly buy books because I‘m on a limited income. My mom can drive me to a library but not when she‘s working so Libby is convenient for me. I don‘t have to worry about transportation to a library when I use Libby and I love that.
I just saw this petition on Instagram and I signed it. I live in Texas. I didn‘t know they were doing this.
This is funny. I imagine these are the books a dog would read if they could read. I wonder what books a cat would read if they could read. The neighbor‘s cat is still visiting us. He‘s not our cat but he‘s spoiled. He eats, sleeps, gets in our laps and lays on the back of our couch and he gets catnip but he likes for us to put it in a pile so he can eat it and then he rolls around in it.

I was on Facebook today and I also saw this graphic. I thought I would share it here. I live in Texas. It makes me wonder what our governor in Texas is going to do about our libraries here. I guess we‘ll have to wait and see if any other states cut off funding to their libraries.

I found this graphic on Instagram from someone I follow and wanted to share it here. I thought it would be helpful.

I donated money last night to www.everylibrary.org because I signed the petition I shared from their website. I had 78 cents left on a Visa gift card so I gave it to this organization. I‘ve decided that I‘m going to give left over money on gift cards to a charity or organization that I choose. I read the annual report on their website and they sound like a good organization.
I wonder if this is going to force all of the libraries to switch to just being online instead of being funded by the government and the only funding that would happen would come from people who use libraries. I‘m on Social Security. I can‘t drive to a library because I don‘t know how to drive so I use Libby. My mom can drive me to a library but not if she‘s working and I can‘t constantly buy books so I love Libby because it‘s convenient.
I just found out about this. I was hoping it wasn‘t true but it is. Why though? We need libraries. How is this going to affect the book I‘m borrowing on Libby right now? I found this petition to sign so I signed it. I wouldn‘t know what to say if I tried to send an email myself so this helps.

I donated some money to my local library. It makes me feel good because I have a digital library card that I use sometimes so it‘s the least I can do. I figured out that I can donate money to my library. I didn‘t know that I could donate to them. If we use our local libraries, I think we should donate to them to help them out if we can.
On Sunday, March 19 my digital library card expired so I signed up for another card. This one will be good to use for 3 years. I signed up for my other card in March 2020 during the Covid 19 pandemic and I really liked having the digital library card. My library has a good selection of books to read but for times when I couldn‘t find a book, I ended up finding what I was looking for on Audible or Scribd.
