This is a great author I have recently discovered. I really enjoyed her book ‘The Chase‘ and I decided to find her first novel, which is this one, at the Library. It was good but there were a few points that seemed a bit too far fetched for me, hence the so so rating. I‘ll still read more, in fact, the next in the series is my next read. As I also borrowed that one from the Library, I need to get cracking before it‘s return date arrives! 😊

An interesting concept, good versus evil, versus not so good? Flawed characters give some depth to the story and, although not exactly likable, Eden is a complicated woman. This looks set to be a strong and enjoyable series.

When I was still working on my manuscript I was lucky enough to meet Candice Fox at s reading. She was so funny and so lovely and I went and bought her book Hades, which had just come out, not realising at the time how incredible it was going to be.
Her symbolism is incredible and her character development is second to none.
If you haven‘t read this series and like crime writing, it‘s a must!

A decent plot, great pacing, and complex characters. I like dark but this was unrelenting, full saturation in the dregs of humanity.

I took a while to warm up to two of the main characters but once I did I found the plot enjoyable. It had grittiness with a heart of pure gold. Plus I really liked the fact that the story is set in an area local to me, so I recognised suburbs and street names, pretty cool.

#TBRTemptation and #recommendsday! I absolutely love this series. The second book, Eden is already published, and just waiting for the third. This debut author is award-winning and she's teamed up with some major authors, like James Patterson. This is a great thriller/mystery with a very original twist! On sale through Amazon, Kindle and AppleBooks!

After hearing Candice Fox interviewed by Richard Fidler, I just have to read this. James Patterson read it and immediately contacted her publisher to see is she wanted to collaborate together 🤘🏽

Sometimes you just need a dark thriller to help you through the dark of winter. THIS WAS SUCH A GREAT BOOK! Very intense though, very easy to read, very fun, and if you like thrillers you will love this book. Has a 'twisted' protagonist who is also an Australian detective. (Side note: more thrillers with Australian detectives please?) Crimes were chilling, but this read was thrilling! 😍

CrowCAH The pic on the cover looks very similar to you! 8y

Is this fan fiction? The parallels to the well-known character and stories of Dexter Morgan were too much for me to take. There are A LOT. Sure, there are differences too but not enough to feel like an original story to me.
