We start 2021 with cookie pie, the last of the espresso, and the Steven Brust novel I‘ve apparently hoarded for four months. Oops.

The Palace is falling apart; the King and his three brothers are at odds what to do with it. The youngest brother journeys to Faery to seek his path, and finds an enigmatic talking horse as a guide. The Palace is an allegory: the house divided against itself, the old that stands in the way of the new, the death that must occur for new life to begin. The writing is haunting, and the little folk tales are gems throughout. Highly recommended.
First library haul in a couple weeks. I‘ve been pretty careful about my hold suspensions so I don‘t end up saddled with an enormous stack of novels again, and I‘ll have to be even more cautious now they‘ve switched the lending period back to 21 days. This lot‘s due before my last haul. Weird.
But yeah; I got some poetry, a bit more Steven Brust, the start of a Fumi Yoshinaga series, and a DVD. Nothing that‘ll take me ages to finish (I hope).
I'm looking at picking up a car payment and cutting out all extras including Audible. Anyone have any recommendations for good listens so I can use my 3 credits wisely???? Thanks! 🤗🤗🤗🤗
#brokedownpalace Really struggled with this tag so had to rely on Mr and Mrs Google (where would we be without them) and found this standalone Science Fiction / Fantasy book. Not a book I've heard of or read before so sorry for the cheat! 😉
