I first read this book in elementary school and I'd forgotten how much I loved it. Despite not being a big fan of Cinderella, I really enjoyed this re-telling in which Ella agrees to marry the prince to escape her step-mother, but then discovers he's not as charming as his name implies. I also didn't remember all of the subtle politics that Haddix slips into the story, but I appreciate those details reading it as an adult.

#BookReport - Not a bad week of reading, but also not fantastic. I didn't care for Rosaline Palmer, which was sad because it's an #LMPBC read. Absolutely loved Sam in the Suburbs. Holdfast ironically did not hold my attention so I think it's going in the giveaway box after taking up shelf room since 1997 😂 The tagged book was okay - a Cinderella “sequel“, but it was meh enough that I decided to pass on the other two books in the trilogy. ⬇

This book surprised me! I couldn‘t look away,,, like a train wreck my eyes were fixed on the fairytale turned almost horror story. Four stars due to the twist and the fact it ended nicely.

Great retelling of the Cinderella story

I needed a quick and easy book after my last read so I started reading this one. I tend to like fairytale retelling type books so hopefully this is a cute one.

What happens if Prince Charming chose you but you never really wanted to be a princess?? Reading this on this rainy Friday evening while waiting to meet my cousins for dinner. (Confession:: I‘d rather stay home and read all night)

I don't remember much about this book but I really liked it when I read 15 years ago 😬.
