From #1 "New York Times" bestselling author Nora Roberts comes a novel about a woman who needs nothing, a man who sees everything, and the web of deceit, greed and danger that brings them together and could tear them apart When professional house-sitter Lila Emerson witnesses a murder/suicide from her current apartment-sitting job, life as she knows it takes a dramatic turn. Suddenly, the woman with no permanent ties finds herself almost wishing for one Artist Ashton Archer knows his brother isn t capable of violence against himself or others. He recruits Lila, the only eyewitness, to help him uncover what happened. Chalking up their intense attraction to the heat of the moment, Lila agrees to help Ash try to find out who murdered his brother and why. From the penthouses of Manhattan to grand Italian villas, their investigation draws them into a rarefied circle where priceless antiques are bought, sold, gambled away and stolen; where what you possess is who you are; and where what you desire becomes a deadly obsession "

Didn‘t want to put this down. A young writer supports her career with house sitting. One night as she peeks into the lives of others, she witnesses a murder and from there gets embroiled with a handsome artist in trying to solve the case. Loys of romance and excitement.

Until she witnesses the murder of a young woman in an apartment opposite. Now her life is in danger from a psychotic killer. With the police following a false lead, can she trust the police artist to help her, one who has his own reasons to be involved. #Scareathlon #TeamSlaughter 1point #PointsTotal-417

Just couldn't bring myself to finish the book. Honestly really didn't interest me at all. Won't give nothing away or spoil it if you haven't read it yet. I guess the horror/scary book are not for me.

I‘ve been 🤦🏻‍♀️ myself since I‘ve started 📖 the 📚. 🏠 sitter enjoys “spying” on neighbours with her binoculars. Saw a murder. Entangle herself with victim‘s Brother. He have a huge family with than 10 over siblings from his parents remarriages. 3/4 📚 talks about his paintings and new house for the heroine to sit. #romanticsuspense #noraroberts it‘s an 👌 read too.

Hello, lovely Littens!! I'm so sorry I disappeared. Life got crazy, and Litsy just kind of fell off my radar. But I went to my very first library sale today, and when I got home all I wanted to do was share my finds with y'all! I've become the proud owner of 27 (near mint condition) books this week, and I only spent $28. It was a thrill, for sure! 😁

She loved the city, where the light made her think of sunflowers, and the air seemed to breathe art. Florence spread under a bowl of summer blue, motorbikes zipping and weaving along narrow streets, between wonderful old buildings, around colorful piazzas.

As a person who can get far too attached to fictional people, I approve of this logic.

HYSTERIA ENSUES!
LaNora rarely fails to make me giggle (especially as this is so true). I don't quite understand why I was so resistant to reading her for so long. Page 11 and we already have our Rear Window-esque house-sitting heroine (though not the much put-upon Julie mentioned above) and one excellent cat (Thomas).

This is a book that I keep picking up for re-read after finishing Beverly Jenkins. "The Collector" is a delightful departure from the usual-albeit entertaining and welcoming-froth usually associated with the genre. Disregarding the mandatory chrono predictabilities, these characters are not perfect. The guy is rich and the girl is "free-spirited" but both are forced to grow up both on their relationship and in trying to stay alive.

BookNerdBritt Recommending to my mom 😄 8y
SocSciRaq Yessss. Everything Nora Roberts and Beverly Jenkins 8y

I loved this one so much that I bought a signed copy. It's a wonderful intrigue / romance / suspense. Lila is a professional house sitter and Ashton is a famous artist. My favorite part is the search for lost Faberge eggs. LOVE.

CaramelLunacy @KatyWithAY Have you read Nora's back list Homeport? There's quite a bit in that one about a Michelangelo statue, if I remember correctly that you might enjoy 8y
