This is total fluff, and that's all it needs to be. It kept me entertained with a smile on my face, and that's just what I needed.

Just finished this. I‘ve now read three of his books. Enjoyed them all. Especially The Girl Who Saved the King Of Sweden. This one is funny and an easy read. @MrsMalaprop

This was a #funfunfun read by Jonas Jonasson, as was his first book 'The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed out The Window and Disappeared'. Must admit Hundred Year Old Man was possibly my favourite. I now want to read 'The Girl Who Saved the King of Sweden'.

Cinfhen I haven't read this author yet, but his titles always strike me as #funfunfun 😊glad to hear you liked this one and 8y

Deadpan and funny with points scored on evangelist cons. Redemption of sorts comes for the hit man and his smarter grifter handlers. Loved Jonasson's other books; all cry out for cinematic treatment. But best in measured doses, is it just me?

Like The Hundred Year Old Man this book is one long farce with plenty of humour thrown in. At first I wasn't sure about it but the story really grew on me and I ended up liking it, however I can see why others didn't like it. I think it is a case of enjoying it or not enjoying it, with little in-between. I definitely preferred The Hundred Year Old Man but this was a nice interlude to other books I have been reading recently.

The dirty priest, with breadcrumbs on her lips, looked ashamed. She said it was unlikely that her prayer would have such immediate results, especially since it had been a rush job and its addressee didn‘t exist.

This book is definitely a must for anyone who read The 100 Year Old Man Who Climb Out The Window And Disappeared. Just a fasical and witty, an absolutely blast and my favourite of the two. I couldn't help but read extracts to my other half, who is inclined to read it to fill in the gaps. Loved it!

About an unlikely duo using a Hitman to con people out of their money using religion. The Swedish underworld is after them. It's not as good as his first book but has some funny moments. Too much violence and torture "jokes". 7.5/10

Another humorous read from Jonas Jonasson. I have enjoyed all of Jonasson's novels thus far, though I think his first (The Hundred Year Old Man...) had the most laugh out loud moments (on every single hilarious page!). This one is also great fun, especially in a summer with so much darkness in the news. This is a book of madcap sunshine to give your mind a vacation!

For #Recommendsday I suggest this gem. Almost slipped by me somehow but what a quirky ride. Jonas Jonasson back at it again with the unlucky Swedes 🙌ðŸ»

I love his book titles and his writing style. Another enjoyable romp, entertaining and a perfect easy read.

Joanne1 I've read the 100 year old man (fun, quirky read) and the King of Sweden (exactly the same, in essence, as the first). Don't think I'll bother with any others. 8y

Well it appears that Munich loves Jonas Jonasson. An entire small sofa patterned after the book cover?! That is awesome. Hugendubel.

Hilarious, irreverent and just a bit heart warming. I love a book that manages to be about a number of serious things while still being utterly funny. Two bitter failures find love. A mass murderer finds God. Santa becomes real. A gem of a book

I had a great time reading this - it was typical Jonasson: funny and outlandish with a bunch of weird characters and scenarios. My only issue is it went a bit long and there were a few parts that didn't really add to the story. Overall an enjoyable read and fans of Jonasson won't be disappointed.

jeff I have the 100-Year-Old Man high on my TBR. Did you like that? 9y
Heather_Reads @jeff I loved that one. It's really clever and made me laugh so much. It's pretty ridiculous but that makes it fun to read. 9y

Madcap adventure of a get-rich-quick scheme involving an ex-con, an atheist female vicar, a former brothel receptionist, gangsters, tabloids, a jobs scam, & a new church. All looks good until Jesus adds his opinion. Translated from Swedish. @Eccobooks

SarahRotenberry Another book by this author is on my 2016 list: The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared 🤔 Glad you're enjoying this one 9y
