In his rarely anthologized novella In the Cage, James brings his incomparable powers of observation to the story of a clever, rebellious heroine of Britain's lower middle class. MayJasper @AlaMich ☺ not much to recommend it then. A horror story and horrifically long sentences. Definitely not for me. Thanks for the tip. 7y
booksandsympathy Those run-on sentences were horrible! Many of them were so long and had so much punctuation, I had to read them several times to figure out their meaning. Some of them I couldn't figure out. I just bailed on this one 7y
