The beginning‘s been good, reminds me of Algernon Blackwoods‘ The Willows. I‘ve heard that it gets pretty misogynistic though so I‘m not looking forward to that.

Also Red Fortress by Catherine Merridale was a spectacular read that looked at the history of Russia,through the perspective of the Kremlin.Beautifully written,fascinating throughout, Catherine Merridale is now one of my favourite writers.I also binged Kresley Cole's Immortals after dark!

Bit too much waffle. Enjoyed the middle, the start and ending were a bit dragging. I liked the characters and the concept that people from the past could appear. I felt like a lot more could have been done with this story.

Haven‘t been reading as much because I‘ve taken up an old/new hobby! Used to do crochet but decided to try cross stitch and I‘m really enjoying it!

So many good books to read!

A story built on myths and legends as old as humanity. I enjoyed stepping into the Mythago Wood together with the main character. Having grown up near a forest, the way the book was written made me go back in time when I was a child and thought the wood behind our garden was magical. Coming to think of it, it might have been. The book makes you think a lot about the perception of time and the story stays with you long after you finish reading it.

This is the fantasy novel version of House of Leaves, featuring an old growth forest that‘s bigger on the inside and that generates “myth images.” I enjoyed this a great deal despite its manic pixie myth girl issue. Holdstock does a great job creating atmosphere and building tension, and I loved the exploration of the place of myth in the human psyche over the course of many millennia.

Not gonna finish anything between now and April 1, so here‘s my #tbrbingo update for March! Kinda sad how little progress I‘ve made and am currently reading three super long books so April will be no better. Hope to gain some ground when I‘m on holidays in May.
