An entertaining, okay „audio-read“ that kept me interested enough to go on.

But I already doubted the starting position that tries to make an unfair situation tempting for the reader. This was so weak that I never got engaged with it. Additionally, I didn‘t really experience Riu‘s personal development. I was told about it but didn‘t feel it. A pity.

So if you take the marine aspect away, the plot and characters are all quite genre-average.

Littens, it‘s because of my demanding real life that you see so few of me here on Litsy.

I‘m having a hard time at my job (they made me cancel my approved vacation after less than 17 hours).

I am really suffering those last 2 weeks. My body aches. My brain never comes to rest. I slowly run empty.

But I like this YA novel. It‘s a bit different than the usual scheme. I don‘t love it. But I enjoy it. Which is worth so much at the moment.

Beatlefan129 Please hang in there and be sure to take good care of yourself 😘 4y

Rio has a lot of questions when her sister decides to sacrifice herself to the above. When Rio herself wanted to go, but her sister begged her not to. Rio must now navigate herself around her underwater home alone. However, her curiosity opens up some answers other questions take there place.

A bewitching read sweeping us into an oceanic tale of crashing cultures meant to cohere. Immersing world-building in water and on land. Underlying currents of choice, love, and power drive a gripping pace in intrigue. Artful twin portrayal (I say as a twin) 😊 Evolving characters effortlessly swirl tradition in discovery-driven plot. Rio sings us to a hopeful ending as compelling as her magnetic call. Definitely recommended--hear the city breathe!
