The older I get (40) the more I appreciate The Hobbit. I definitely wasn't very fond of it as a kid (12). Maybe I'm starting to see Bilbo's point of view more?
In this copy there are a few illustrations done by Tolkien and I can't help but notice that in this one above Bilbo rather resembles Tolkien himself 😸

JazzFeathers LOL! That's what happening to me too. Every time l reread it, l find something new to appreciate. But l remember that, although l was a hard fantasy reader, The Hobbit didn't do much for me as a kid. 5y
