I finished my august #bookspin but not the double spin. 4 books read 2 dnf‘d. The rest might get switched around for September because of library holds:) The book is amazing as is her Simplicity Space Community. I joined and so far it‘s completely worth it!

I need a girl dog name, I already have peaches, blueberry, Wednesday, and Pugsley. She‘s not really a morticia so nothing is sticking….

BookNAround She‘s precious! Reading your list of names made me think Pickles but I have no idea why. 😂 6mo

5/5 stars. This book was amazing! I think better then The Sundown Motel. Now I must read everything else she has written or at least try too! Definitely worth the time!!

This book was lovely. I was worried reading the so/so responses about whether I would like it - but I loved it so much I have book hangover. What do I read after this! The Starless Sea of course. I will add this to the occasionally re-read pile!

My library hold came through and I have to say this reminds me of Lock Every Door by Riley Sager - for the moment Lucy Foley appears to be the better read but damn if they don‘t read similarly. Or maybe it‘s just me….

My cover is prettier. A solid 4 stars if you are a history nerd. Very information dense but interesting in how historical manuscripts were saved from from various purges and destruction so knowledge can move forward. Also my #bookspin for February! Yay

All in all I liked this book. 5 stars because I‘ll probably read-read it at some point. I‘m not sure I‘ll do the challenge yet but she inspired me to simplify my closet and look into my clothes for some things I‘d rather love then what makes me look “good”.

A re-read and very good. I wonder how all these people faired through Covid and the pandemic? If you haven‘t read it you should. All of this is probably just as pertinent today as it was when it was first written! 5 stars.

#doublebookspin #bookspinbingo. A re-read so of course 5 stars. After The Discovery of Witches series this is the next favorite! So steadily re-reading them. This happened to also be my double spin so yay me!!

TheAromaofBooks I own the first book in this series but still haven't gotten around to reading it yet!! 10mo
Bookishlie This series is one of the best urban magic out there. It‘s well written and fast paced. Kate Daniel‘s is a kickass girl boss! 10mo

#bookspin yay! I finished my book soon for January! A first ever for me!! Now to move on to the double spin and a look at my card! Read the tagged book. It‘s a 4 star read for me - I‘m not sure I like the author as a person but it was eye opening to see how it feels to be inside a depression spiral as I‘ve never had one as bad as hers. This helps make it easier to relate. I‘m not sure she‘s likable, but she‘s understandable.

TheAromaofBooks Great progress!!! 10mo

5 stars. I got this arc on NetGalley and was so excited because I have all her books. This one is a quick rehash of her other two but is almost like a QuickStart guide. I will buy it. If you struggle with housework and decluttering and NOTHING has worked she probably will. This is for those of us who just don‘t think like other people.

5 stars. Poor Robin gets divorced and looses her job all at once. This is her story of moving to her 650 ft cabin in Michigan as her full time home. What follows is a series of essays with recipes about her struggles to feed herself on a budget while staying true to her keep it local ideals. Very sweet although her “budget” is 40.00 a week which is pretty good considering some; but much less then what she was used to. A very sweet read.

I really enjoyed this. Pamela Paul keeps a book of books (BOB) and has for years. I might need to try this as my journal attempts are dismal. I could probably keep up with something like this. Maybe I should just print off my Bookly graphics and stick them in a book with comments. Hmmmm. We will see.

So I just finished my third re-read of this book. I'm not sure if I like Julie Powell or not. I feel like we would be besties or couldn't stand each other. She is whiney, self-absorbed, and dramatic - all the things I despise. BUT she is entertaining, aware of her issues, and is willing to laugh at herself. Plus we both say the word “fuck“ a lot. Who am I kidding, we'd be besties - opposites attract.

Despite the obvious first world problems and the fact Gilbert comes off as a whiney rich girl with problems of her own making - I LOVED this book, and I loved Gilbert‘s voice and I will read the next one. I guess even rich ridiculous white girls have problems too and that makes me feel slightly better :). So on to the next one. I feel like she could be a girl bud - as long as she doesn‘t mind me telling her to stop whining. Lol
