Starting #rockinmay with a book about a rocker and his immigration battle during the Nixon administration. I read this earlier this year on #NetGalley and found it really interesting!

Full disclosure: I'm a huge Beatles fan. Fun fact: I've been known to visit Strawberry Fields on anniversaries and birthdays to sing along with other fans.

While I consider myself a big fan of The Beatles and well-versed in much of the lives of its members, I knew very little about the over 4 years that John Lennon fought deportation by the US government.

This book, written by Lennon's immigration lawyer, is a fascinating look at a legal battle that influences immigration today. I couldn't help but think of the parallels going on 40 years on.

Why did I sign up for #NetGalley? I have a neglected blog and something like 20 reviews on #Goodreads. Also, it took me an hour to figure out how to download these Read Nows. (I didn't bother requesting a book, for fear of rejection.)

This was well done. Wildes is the author and was the lawyer for the Lennons during this case that lasted almost 5 years. In depth, and somewhat biased, but really informative. I know nothing of deportation and immigration and I found this very interesting.
