My final #LMPBC read was a winner! Lots going on here...teenage rebellion against parents, marriage of convenience, striking out on your own, proving yourself by becoming successful, returning home to rectify past issues, falling in love, learning love may mean letting go....whew!!! It has it all! Loved Charlotte‘s and Colin‘s banter and their less-than-perfect slide into love. 4/5⭐️
Will definitely read more from Layne.

TheAromaofBooks Actually no, although she's been on my radar forever! A book blog friend loves her and is always reading and reviewing her books, so I don't know why it took me so long to pick one up! This one doesn't get too explicit, but I know a lot of her other books do, which is part of the reason I haven't been in a huge rush to read them. 4y

robinb @TheAromaofBooks I know what you mean! I've wanted to try her too, but judging by the raciness of some of her covers, I wasn't sure if there was much substance there....know what I mean?! So far, I'm enjoying this one. Interesting premise. 4y

Lauren Layne is one of my go to romance authors but I haven‘t read a lot of her lately. So I was excited when @TheAromaofBooks picked this for this round of #LMPBC. I don‘t want to say much but I am always a sucker for marriage of convenience book. I really enjoyed it is! Loved Charlotte and Colin!

I'm going with a pick for this one, although there was one major issue I had, which I will post as a spoiler comment. I'm a huge sucker for the marriage-of-convenience trope, so that was a big plus. Overall a fun and fast read. It's my #LMPBC pick, so I am interested to see what @hes7 @lovesbooks87 and @robinb think about it!!

TheAromaofBooks My problem with this book is that there is another woman in the picture. So no matter how much I liked Charlotte and Colin together, Colin was cheating in his heart even if he didn't with his actions. I especially hate it when this kind of scenario is presented as “well the other woman is a bitch so it doesn't matter“ - um. It ALWAYS matters. Cheating is cheating. Colin CHOSE Rebecca and that means he owes her to be faithful. 4y

robinb I don‘t think I‘ve ever read anything by this author so I‘m looking forward to it. 😊 4y

I don't really know how much time I'm going to have to read for this month's #24B4Monday readathon, so I am aiming for an average of two hours per day - six hours feels doable! Right now I'm reading the tagged book as my #LMPBC pick for #GroupR

Also have a job interview this afternoon, so we will see what happens!!

TheAromaofBooks @robinb - Thank you!! I've only worked a few odd days so far - regular hours will start late February/early March - but it's close to home and there is nothing quite as happy as working in your short sleeves in a warm, sunny greenhouse when it's still in the 30's outside!! I worked two seasons at a larger greenhouse further away a couple years ago, so I'm excited to learn new things at this one, which focuses on wholesale herbs. 4y

TheAromaofBooks @robinb - When I worked at the other greenhouse (a much larger operation) they had a system where you could purchase stuff and have it come straight out of your paycheck! I completely avoided that dangerous territory because I was afraid I would owe THEM money instead of the other way around! 😂 4y
