Also inexplicable is her uncanny ability to foresee or interpret events into her drawings, and Chief Inspector Delphick (The Oracle) finds them quite useful in their investigations. 3y

Cute little, I guess I‘d call it cozy, mystery set in England in the late 60s. It honestly had an earlier feel to it - almost Golden Age. Miss Seeton is an innocent, a bit clueless, but she may be slightly psychic, especially when she draws. After attending an opera, she finds herself involved in a murder and the Scotland Yard Superintendent recognizes her worth. It‘s fairly well written, if a little short on suspense. 4.0⭐️ #2019

jpmcwisemorgan I‘ve read this one, I liked the little bit psychic part but I think it didn‘t do much else for me. Not bad but I‘m not sure I‘d read more unless someone gave it to me. 6y

rretzler @jpmcwisemorgan There is a link in the back of the first book to get the second one free. 😄 I think it was not bad for a first effort - it read almost like a “Golden Ager” to me, and I like those so I‘ll continue with the series until it doesn‘t suit any more, probably only reading 1-2 per year since I‘m more invested in a lot of other series and authors. 6y

so-so

Nice, easy British mystery with an older female lead who's handy with an umbrella. Miss Seeton certainly doesn't mean to get involved in a crime but it happens anyway. The depiction of the village gossip is spot on but the umbrella is the best part. I think we should all carry on because they are clearly quite handy. #24in48

I'm not going to get 24 hours in but I have a few books I've started that I'd like to finish up. This is one of them. So far it feels like a nice, British cozy-type mystery. I'll see how it ends up. #24in48
