I have been absent from Litsy for a little while, but I have missed you all! I've done quite a bit of reading but this is what I'm devouring right now. I'm only through the second chapter and am captivated!!
Doing some quilting while listening to this audiobook tonight. I am starting to get into it and caught myself giggling at different points!
Dear Litsy friends, I am looking for a recommendation. This book is about a woman immersing herself within a Christian convent. Would anyone know of anything similar involving Buddhist monks and/or nuns?? Thanks in advance!! ❤️💖😘
I am not at all religious - but I still find things like this so fascinating! I struggle with the monotony of housework and am lucky to have a husband who does a pretty good job of holding up his end of things. But this is letting me pause and think about reframing the day to day to something much more meaningful.

This week's #funfridayphoto is favorite books set on a college campus. These are two of my favorites by JCO - one deals with race on campus in the 70s and the other depicts an incredible experience of a young woman with mental illness.
This one has gotten mixed reviews on Litsy and I thought I'd be more hooked on it by now... But I bought it with audible credits so I will definitely finish it! So tonight, I will #listenandknit ☺️ #knitting
I'm embarrassed to admit that I've never read this! It is definitely time!
This was the perfect book for me to read these last few days - as the nights are starting to get a little cooler here in NH - and this is a cozy, witchy little book. It makes me want to clear out my garden beds and start my own witch's garden.

I can't stop smiling when reading this book... It is just so cozy. I think Gilly and I could be friends!!
I don't plan on home schooling, but I want to do everything I can to make sure my kiddos are ready for school. Since I'm not a natural teacher, I decided to bring in reinforcements!
I got this book at the library when I lived in Austin (about 8-9 years ago) and LOVED it. Since moving to NH, I've never been able to find it at any of my local libraries and it's not available on kindle... I don't usually buy books that I've already read, but I couldn't resist with this one!! 😍 last night: I was cozy!

Okay - I am so glad that I read this wacky book. And if it weren't for the terror, murder, abuse, and isolation, I would want to be a librarian with my own cloister. But I do not want to put up with that shit. I vote for a sequel!
Weirdest. Book. Ever. Seriously WTF?? 🙀
Okay - I'm finally picking up steam with this one and don't feel quite as nauseous anytime I read it!

A group of high school students gather at a decrepit old hotel for regional band and choir concerts. Mysteries begin to unravel as they all get trapped in a snowstorm. People accepting themselves, sharing their true selves, beautiful passages describing the feelings that music creates, and lots of inside jokes make this a fabulous read. Oh, and just in time for #internationalcatday!
I was so happy to be back in this world. This tugged at my heart, kept me on the edge of my seat, and had me rooting for the good guys - just like the first 7 books. Now I just have to find a way to get to London and see this on stage!
Oh, these two. Especially that Scorpius - he is a kindred spirit!
I may or may not have just parked my children in front of Dumbo so that I could read. Living up to my goal of "World's Okayest Mother." ?
I had to return this one to the library, so... I still haven't finished an Anne Lamott book. Boo!
I got my copy on Wednesday and finally have a chance to sit down and read!! Thank you, litsy, for being so careful about spoilers for those of us that take a little longer to get to things like this! 😘
Just finished this on audio - so good! Great characters and an engrossing mystery. I'm already on the holds list for the second in this series!
Started listening to this after I heard @Liberty mention it on a recent podcast. It's held my attention during my walks and I am loving it!
What a beautiful way to describe this symphony! I'm still loving this book! 😻
I was that mousy little clarinet playing nerd. 1,000%. Dude - this book has completely taken me back to my HS musician days!
My TBR Tuesday: Kindle edition. I'm having a little bit of a reading dry spell, but that's okay. I know the mojo will return!
Halfway finished the Turn of the Screw! I've never been able to make it this far before... The small chunks definitely help! Thanks Serial app!
My two year old just pointed at the woods across from our house and shouted, "THE SHIRE!." ?? Teaching him right!!
Yay! Amazon credit! I think I know what I'm buying first... 😱
It's here! Yay! And pardon my 2 year old 😂😂
Started this fun, little British mystery last night. Witty dialogue, quick moving plot - good fun!
I woke up at 4am today so that I could finish this before my children woke up. I think that means that I enjoyed it! ✔️
Thanks @bookriot for the new addiction 🤓 serial reader is like DailyLit, but I'm hoping that I will actually get my installments! (For some reason, I get weird delays with DailyLit).
OK I swear - as soon as my water finishes boiling I will be OFF of my phone for the night and diving into The Tear!
@Liberty and her #funphotofriday! My Maine Coon cat, August, keeping me company last night. He is so helpful! 😻
Couldn't pass up this recent Kindle deal! I started last night - not usually into this sort of thing, but digging this Queen and her adventure!
