Two roads lead to Mount Hope. None leads out. T here's no place to run in a community that's been taken--and is being intentionally kept--off the grid.

Pickpick

Typical YA fayre. Somewhere between so-so and good. An accident at a power plant that changes people within the town when they return. Plenty of action and events that lead to a couple of youngsters saving the day helped by the changes to them. As always with James Patterson it moves along very quickly.

Started listening to this interesting sounding book. Sounds a bit science fiction like, a town that is changed after a freak power plant accident. What is going on in the town? A YA book.

Bailedbailed

Was listening to this on audiobook and had to bail. Got uncomfortable with how this story handles one of the main characters. Jordan is biracial, but most people in his small, South Carolina town see him as black. Two white authors and the audiobook even doubles down with a white narrator. Even without the narrator issue, it didn‘t read authentic, and started to bother me. Hated to bail on this, because I like Robison Wells‘ writing.

I'm still not quite sure what to think of this book. It was fast moving and the characters were good - the storyline was a bit of a stretch though and there were many holes. This one would be a solid 3/5 for me.

Meh, this was kinda ok! An interesting premise, people keep dying at the same spot at certain times, but then it kinda fizzled out. 🤷‍♀️ #scarathlon #teamstoker

This was a quick easy read. It‘s not my usual James Patterson read but it was an okay book. The town of Mt. Hope is in the midst of a nuclear emergency and the town is evacuated. When the residents are allowed to return they notice things do not seem right.

I normally read everything Patterson puts out so I had to pick this one up. It wasn‘t spectacular but it was a decent read.
