This is a wonderful f/f love story written in the late 60‘s. I loved every moment of it.

I don‘t read many mass market sized paperbacks these days, it felt tiny in my hands after hardcovers and today‘s standard sized paperbacks. It‘s funny what we get used too.

This is my first #LPMBC experience 😊. I can‘t wait to see what we‘re reading.

These are the books that might sort of fit that I have already on my shelves. The only one that is blurbed as a romance is the tagged, but the other three have focuses on lesbian relationships.

If none of these work or if you‘ve read them before then I‘ll do some book shopping (darn, right? Lol)

Soubhiville These three are likely to have some heavier subject matter, so if we want to stick to lighter traditional romances like I said I‘m happy to do some shopping around. 4y

WanderingBookaneer I almost picked Hood as one of mine, I also considered The Pull of the Stars, but went for something lighter. I‘ve read half of these but would gladly reread them. What say you, @Eventerj9 and @rachelm ? 4y

WanderingBookaneer Hood was my first book by Donoghue. It made shredded my heart and made me a fan. Since then, I have purchased every book she has published @Soubhiville . The other book I read was Patience and Sarah. I went through a phase in my teenage years where I tried to read as many lesbian classics as I could. Though I have revisit Hood on occasion, it has been decades since I have read Patience and Sarah. I would definitely reread it again now. 4y

RaeAragorn I adore Patience & Sarah. It's almost refreshing compared to the level of angst a lot of contemporary lesfic contains.

TheAromaofBooks A whole series here, too! I actually LOVED the Poison Study books - you have to watch out though, because there are those three books... then the three Glass books... then three more Study books... plus little extra stories on the author's website. They all take place in the same world and interconnect. Great books, but can be slightly confusing lol Definitely recommend checking out the author's website before diving in! 5y

TheAromaofBooks Honestly, it felt like some of the short stories she posted on her website should have been incorporated as prefaces or epilogues or some such because some of them do have moderately critical information! I got my own copy of this series for Christmas and really want to reread them soon. 5y

Today I read my 1st LGBT book, and I enjoyed it. It was set in Connecticut during the 19th century. A beautiful and well written story about 2 women's struggles to love each other despite the societal taboos of the time. The audiobook was well narrated. An enjoyable read. Not graphic. 5🌟s 🤓📚💕

TheBookAddict @ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled.com it is really good. Doesn't just focus on what actually happens, but also on their internal battles, and how they handle what happens. A lovely story. It is my first audiobook with a narration by Jean Smart, and I liked it a great deal. 9y
