THIS ROAD TO LOVE MAY HAVE A FEW SPEED BUMPS... Former hot mess Jolene Baxter is committed to doing better. It's why she offered to help her sister and brother-in-law move across the country. However, her goodwill is tested when last minute changes-mainly her father ditching her for an all-expenses paid vacation-forces her to make the journey with a man who is the human version of a pebble in her shoe. Jason Akana operates on lists and bitter coffee, but none of those things will help him on a sixteen-hour trip with the most infuriating woman. Maybe they can get along and forget their heated confrontation five years ago at his best friend's wedding...when pigs fly. But the addition of vehicle problems, an unplanned pit stop in a small town, and chemistry that inconveniently tags along, shifts their perspectives. And once the dust settles after their trip, a tentative friendship emerges. Will these two stubborn people successfully navigate the unexpected feelings that follow close behind? Or will they hit a roadblock before reaching happily ever after? Content Notes: Deceased parent (dies long before start of the book) - Verbally pushy person interested in the heroine (NOT the hero)

I really enjoyed this. Mimi Grace has a lot of potential, and this debut is a solid start to what I hope is a long career. Some strange similarities to The Worst Best Man, but it‘s mostly trope stuff.

Jolene and Jason have a strained relationship, which starts to smolder on an unplanned and unlucky road trip. One thing bothered me but I‘ll put it under a spoiler tag. For the most part a fun and steamy read.

ravenlee The part about Mark getting Jolene fired felt contrived - Jason‘s action didn‘t feel true, and why would a dentist and whatever Mark‘s dad is be at the same conference, and the whole thing was just too much. But it all worked in the end. 4y

Part 1 of my book bender #bookhaul just arrived. four #blackoutbestsellerlist and the remainder are still, I believe, #ownvoices.

I‘ve been eyeing the RR Presents forever and Amazon had a lot of them in the 3 for the price of 2 sale. There was one more book in the box but the kiddo already claimed How to Catch a Mermaid.

Still waiting on two more shipping separately and the Book Outlet box. This is why I haven‘t made my #bookspin list yet!

BookmarkTavern I‘ve really enjoyed everything I‘ve read from RRPresents, although I haven‘t read a couple of the ones you‘ve got. I hope you enjoy them! ❤️ 4y
ravenlee @ozma.of.oz I tried to read the first Aru Shah from the library and bailed on it, but it was a timing thing. I want to try it again sometime. It‘s the only one I‘ve started. 4y
BookmarkTavern Aru Shah was a real rough start for me. I didn‘t really get into it until about halfway through. I‘ve got Tristan Strong on hold right now and I‘m really looking forward to it! 4y

My name is Anne and I have a problem. I have gone on a total book bender recently. First came Book Outlet, and I thought I was done. Then the kiddo and I went to BN, and I thought a few more wouldn‘t hurt. But then I found myself on Amazon late last night and there was this “3 for the price of 2” sale...I need to stop.

Also, migraine kicked my butt all day yesterday so very little reading. Fingers crossed for today.

madams421 Omg I can relate. I have bought SO many books during quarantine yikezzz 5y
Eggs You are not alone (bender wise) Anne. Many of us are right there with you 😳 but remember: there are worse benders one could have...hope your head feels better soon 🥰 (edited) 5y
Lesanne Hi Anne, my name is Leslie and I share your addiction. I‘ve bought or borrowed 12 books in just the last 2 weeks, and that‘s without setting foot in a bookstore! So no, you‘re not alone. Hope you‘re feeling better today. ☺️ 5y

I‘m a serious sucker for a road trip romance! This was a really great balance of road trip and reality. The first part got a bit zany but the post-road trip relationship building was wonderful. This was Mimi Grace‘s debut and I can‘t wait to read what else she writes!

#romantsy #romance #blackvoices

BookNAround I love the description of the hero as “the human version of a pebble in her shoe.” 😂😂😂 This sounds really good! 5y
MarriedtoMrT @BookNAround They have a great enemy-to-lovers dynamic! 5y
MarriedtoMrT @BookNAround Or annoyance-to-lovers 🤣 5y
Sharpeipup Road trip romances are so much fun & perfect for summer! 5y

Soooo cute and the sexy times were 🔥🔥🔥 There's some good mishaps, banter, competence-porn, and it just worked really well. I'm excited to see more by Mimi Grace. ❤
