Can the past save the future? asks this SIGMA Force thriller from the king of the genre. In Washington DC, a homeless man dies in the arms of Commander Gray Pierce clutching a bloody coin in his hand - an ancient artefact that could unlock a plot threatening the very foundation of humanity. Meanwhile, a group of international scientists are engineering children with exceptional talents into something far greater and far more frightening - a world prophet for the new millennium, one to be manipulated to create a new era of global peace... a peace on their own terms. For Commander Pierce and SIGMA Force, it's a race against time to solve a mystery that dates back to the Oracle of Delphi...

Though not my favorite addition of the series, the ending of the 4th book demanded that I break from my monthly schedule of reading to start this one! As usual, it‘s exciting and action-packed. But the villains and their actions are very dark here which made it less fun than some of the earlier books. Looking forward to seeing what happens next though!

rather_be_reading LOVE that calendar!! 5y

Book 5 in Sigma Force series. A group of scientists unleash a project that could bring the extinction of humankind. History that traces back to the Greek Oracle of Delphi. It‘s a race against time to solve the mystery but will the past be enough to save the future. A combination of interesting and boring but still a good read. Should be 100 Pgs shorter. Still looking forward to next book in the series. Recommend to history lovers.

Finally getting to start book 5 in the Sigma Force Series. Thoroughly recommend this series for those that like books that have a mixture of history and a modern day thriller, with an element of a Treasure Hunt. Of course you also have the baddies on the same hunt. 🤣 Some great characters in this series and superbly written.

EadieB I will start it soon. I have 50 pages to go. This book is so good! @Andrew65 6y

DNF'd @ 54%.

There's nothing wrong with the book. I'm just going thru a very crappy reading slump. 😔 I was enjoying the book, even though the pacing is a tiny itty bit slow. But because of that I decided to DNF so I can return to it one day without any negative associations to it.

Reading slumps are the most awful of things.

Alfoster Agreed! Hope you are out of it soon😀! 7y
Rachbb3 They are awful! Hope it passes soon. 7y
BiblioNyan @Rachbb3 @Alfoster Thanks! I hope it passes soon too. Gonna take the week off from reading and see if it makes a difference. 😃 7y

Advice: if you're going to use a foreign language in your book, make sure you use it accordingly. "Dahi handi" literally translates to "yogurt pot," or "butter pot," depending on context. With the way it was used in this specific scene, adding the word "pot" at the end of it, even if it's in Hindi, is really awkward. It's like chai. "Chai tea" = tea tea. "Handi pot" = pot pot.

I really like this book so far. The first hundred pages is inspired by Greek mythos, particularly relating to the Oracle of Delphi!

Starting the next book in the Sigma Force series, which came in yesterday! I love how reflective this cover is. The Last Oracle is the fifth book. I don't know much about it aside from the fact that most of it will take place in Delphi and deal with religious prophets. I want to be as surprised as possible with the plot. 😃
