This was my top book for May and I should probably review it. Sandstorm is the first book in the Sigma Force series. It‘s what you would get if you threw elements of The Mummy, Indiana Jones, and King Solomon‘s Mines in a blender along with a secret military group and set it after 9/11. I found I didn‘t want to put it down, and listened to some of it on audio even though I didn‘t love the narrator. It was a great vacation read.

Finished 5/31/25

WorldsOkayestStepMom I've loved all of the Sigma Force series that I've read! 5d
Bookzombie @WorldsOkayestStepMom I almost started the next book right away, but decided to pace myself. lol. 5d

May #wrapup

Total read = 10
7 audio (2 novellas)
3 print

I returned to several series I had paused on and started a couple of new ones. My pick for May is Sandstorm, because it reminded me that I can get through a #chunkster. I gobbled up the almost 600 pages while on vacation.

TheBookHippie 🎉 chunksters 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 5d
Reggie Where‘d you go for vacation? 5d
Bookzombie @Reggie I had a staycation. It was great. We have had a lot change at work and I was just ready to be off of work. lol. 5d

#ShelfSweeper #4Elizabeth

This is the 11th book in the Sigma Force series. It starts out in the mountains of Croatia. A research lab is conducting a study of the evolution of human intelligence that involves a primate gorilla named Baako. The book continues to give us a premise of going to Atlantis which is a totally new concept that I didn't fully believe in.

rwmg Umm, this seems to be the review for a different book than the tagged one 2w
EadieB @rwmg you‘re right! I‘ll have to fix it. I must be going crazy! Ha-ha! 2w
EadieB I did enjoy this book but had to rate it a 4.0 because of Atlantis being shown as part of the concept. If you like books about gorilla research then you will enjoy this book. Recommended! 2w
Andrew65 Well done. Quite clever how he plotted in Atlantis but possibly stretching things too far. I did enjoy both elements and just suspended belief. 2w

Cheesey action movie vibes.
I loved it.
Was thrown for a loop by the zombies though.

Keeps your attention the whole time. Love the cliff hangers.
Very well written.

Husband gifted me a Kindle Paperwhite for the holidays!
Sigma Force book four is a go!
Now that I can read in the dark, it's a problem. I stayed up until 3am reading!

I only missed 3 #bookspin or #doublespin books this year. That's pretty great for me. I'm shooting for 100%b in 2024
