An atheist primer, if you will, laying out logical arguments against religious belief. In a similar vein to The Magic of Reality but I liked this much better. It covers a lot of familiar territory if you‘ve read anything in this genre before, but would probably be a good introduction if you hadn‘t.

Today I learned that Abraham Lincoln and Charles Darwin were born on the same day.

I didn't enjoy this nearly as much as Christopher Hitchens or Sam Harris's books on atheism, but it was still pretty good.

The number of molecules of air in a lung is hugely greater than the number of lungs in the world. You have almost certainly breathed in atoms that were breathed out by Adolf Hitler. And Hitler's secretary reported that he had bad breath.

This is Dawkins 101 - the shorter, gentler, and more accessible sibling to The God Delusion. It is targeted at younger people, and is meant to be an introduction in to the world of critical thinking so to speak. Unfortunately, I believe the young indoctrinated-at-birth who should read this would never pick up something they consider blasphemous. Oh, how I wish I would've had access to such a book in high school or my early college years!

Indoctrination is hard to overcome. Most of my childhood friends have not changed over the last 40+ years. For many there was never a reason to seek knowledge or learn critical thinking skills. 😔

This brings me back to my Catholic School days when our nun teachers would tap dance around the many ugly parts of the Bible. 😬

A simple introduction to atheism in a conversational style from the world's most famous atheist. The bulk of the text was interesting and convincing but the final chapter, “Taking Courage from Science,“ was incredibly powerful. This book could be life-changing for a thoughtful teen.

A great read indeed ❤ although I must say, the condescending tone didn't help during the first half, and it may definitely rub some people off in the wrong way ?

From skinner pigeon experiments to evolution, an open mind will take on the courage to believe in the more weirder but beautiful science, than to put in his words, the more "improbable" conclusion that is GOD. ?? worth it ???

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I didn‘t realize Dawkins had a new book until I heard him on Dax Shepard‘s podcast a few days ago. That was quite an interview. Dax - an atheist - was totally fanboying and I loved it! Anyway, this book is insightful. “You don‘t have to believe in a higher power to be good.” Simply stated, yet so true.

I do think Dawkins could be a bit less condescending with his book titles, but I like what he has to say within.

I don‘t always match my bath bomb to my book, except sometimes I do. Which is pretty sad/weird/anal, but I kinda like it 😊

This bath bomb is amazing. It‘s from Lush (obviously!) and it smells and feels so nice. My husband ran me the bath; I really needed it tonight. This book is an easy read after a challenging day. 🛀 🧼 🛁 🧽 🎾 💣

Richard Dawkins‘ talk was brilliant! I‘ve never properly read his work, but had a vague idea of it from reading others‘ work. His Q&A was brilliant and he was very convincing! Can‘t wait to read the tagged book, which was included with the ticket. I think this is next on my TBR list.
