Healthy as F*ck
Healthy as F*ck: The Habits You Need to Get Lean, Stay Healthy, and Kick Ass at Life | Oonagh Duncan
8 posts | 10 read | 3 to read
Join the Movement. Ditch the Diet. Who's ready to stop thinking about weight loss? To free their brain from thoughts about ketones, calories, and fasting? Who wants life to be more effortless, energetic, and empowered? Welcome to a refreshing and gloriously unapologetic conversation about health, fitness and habits. Award-winning trainer Oonagh Duncan cuts through the wellness clutter to drop some truth bombs: it might not be six-pack abs you're looking for it might be happiness, confidence, and acceptance. But if losing your belly is what you want, don't let anyone including yourself stop you from going after it. And she'll show you how to make it happen. There's only one major difference between those rare unicorns who have managed to lose weight and the rest of us: their habits. When you acknowledge that following a diet is not getting you anywhere, and you make a few small changes to your everyday routine, you'll find yourself happier and healthy as f*ck.

Humorous self help. Learn a lot laugh a lot. Surprising amount of swearing but it was fun.

Vulgar and crass, I found this book extremely helpful and insightful.

Listen. I'm not a self-help reader, but friends: This is a good one. Need some inspiration to get healthier? This is it. But, as evidenced by the title, if coarse language isn't your thing then neither is this book.

If you suffer from eating disorders, this book may be triggering. Good information but goes back and forth, “you can eat anything” to “stay away from these foods.” I don‘t read a lot of diet books, only picked it up because I read self help books with curse words in their title.

Perhaps not the best read as I was baking cakes for U.S. Thanksgiving, but it certainly helped to put things into perspective. Duncan has a humorous approach to healthy living and provides some very practical tips on developing healthy habits for living. I like her ‘take no prisoners‘ approach to physical, emotional, & spiritual health. #NFNov. I learned that you still burn calories related to exercise as you sleep! #TIL
