pickKidnapping survivor Alice is smart yet cautious, staying safely in her father‘s shadow. She & fellow true crime website fans try to solve cold cases, until she spots her kidnapper! Good, twisty thriller with interesting 30 year old female characters. One scene involving a burglary didn‘t come together as well as the rest of the book, but it‘s a fun read by the author of the excellent “Little Pretty Things.” #thriller #coldcases #femalecharacters
pickMy first book by this author it was a slow start for me & one where I wasn‘t loving the MCs (Alice, kidnapped as a toddler but found & returned to her family & Merrily whose sorta stepfather is missing so she posts him on a missing person website where Alice recognizes him as the man who took her. Once they met, the pace picked up & I liked the many twists that had me quessing incorrectly on the ending. With Macaroni ‘n Cheese my review/recipe👇🏻

Had to help at a company event tonight—an outdoor movie in the parking lot of our retail location for 250-ish employees & their families. We watched Coco & feed them with a nacho bar, popcorn bar, cotton candy, KC waffle dogs, a shave ice truck, movie candy & drinks. I‘m exhausted but happy I made it home with a few boxes of Raisinets (my favorite movie candy).😋Going to try & stay awake for a few chapters of my current read for book tour review.

pickSince this is a #LocalAuthor for me, I am also using this mystery as my #ReadAroundTheWorldChallenge book for #USA- though most of the action is in #Chicago- there are also some scenes in surrounding states! I enjoyed this book- told mainly from two perspectives- sheltered Alice and more worldly Merrily, their lives intersect over a missing person and a lifetime of secrets begin to unravel! It‘s hard to put down and definitely entertaining!
