And she was feeling good, at first. Then she began to feel strange, as if she was expanding, taking on new acreage too rapidly to keep up with her own topography. Feelings were returned to her like toys she hadn‘t seen since childhood, and she held them awkwardly, unsure of what to do with them as an adult.
It‘s Saturday and I have nowhere I need to be. Laundry is done and I‘m caught up on all of my TV shows. Enjoying a cup of cocoa, an evergreen candle, a warm blankie and a good book! I just need some snow ❄️☃️
Haven‘t had much reading time lately. When I do have time, I‘ve had library books with deadlines. Finally had time to start one of my ARCs. It‘s good so far!
The only bad thing about reading Christmas books at other times of the year is that I always, ALWAYS, end up getting a Christmas song stuck in my head for at least a week. This morning I was doing laundry and I couldn‘t figure out why I had Elvis‘s “Here Comes Santa Claus” stuck in my head 🎅🏻🤦🏼♀️
Well, this explains the internet access. I can‘t stop reading this book. It is crazy!!! I remember when one of the daughters escaped and the authorities went into the house and found the horrible conditions, but it was even worse than what they reported at the time. It‘s amazing that all of them survived it.
So many bizarre things about this family but I am really shocked that they had access to the internet??
I had a hard time with the subject matter of this one and there were parts of it that really dragged for me. I thought it was okay. Not my favorite of his. It will be interesting to see how the miniseries turns out.
MASTERPIECE. Margaret Atwood is a genius. Read it!!!
“Think of me as a guide. Think of yourself as a wanderer in a dark wood. It‘s about to get darker.”
Got a hold of an early copy of this one!! So much hype, I‘m excited to read it and decide for myself 😊
This is due back in one week, you guys. I don‘t know. I just don‘t know!
@Wonderwoman89 one day late, for which we can blame USPS! Thank you!! I really needed these today. @LibrarianRyan I got them!!
Thank you so much @mom2bugnbee for all the bookmarks and the lovely card!! #bookmarkswap @LibrarianRyan
Mailed out my bookmarks today for the swap! One of my names is getting this one, but I had to buy an extra for myself!! @LibrarianRyan
I love this series!! This one just came out today. I won‘t be able to finish it tonight but I made a good start!
Ailsa Calder‘s life takes an unexpected turn when her mother passes away. She discovers that she has inherited a house in Scotland. It‘s a house she lived in as a very young girl, but she and her mother left when her father went missing. Ailsa had no idea that her mother still owned the house, and she‘s even more surprised to find that her father‘s name is still on the deed as well. And that‘s just the start of the twists this book offers!!
Just starting chapter six of this one and I am so mad I didn‘t start it yesterday. I can‘t stay up late reading on a Sunday night. Mondays are hard enough as it is. 😰
I‘m finding this book to be a little stressful. The “girlfriend” is already being so manipulative to this poor mom and I am not even half done. 😰 No complaints about the writing. It‘s almost TOO good!
I was lucky enough to have someone share their early copy of this book with me. It is SO GOOD. Really suspenseful and creepy. I stayed up way too late last night finishing it. Five stars!!! 🌠
Finally starting this one, the latest Maisie Dobbs book. I was lucky enough to meet Jacqueline Winspear last month and get my copy signed!
I really liked the first book in this series and bought this one in 2018, fully intending to read it right away. Here we are in May 2019. I just now finished it today and the next book in the series comes out in a week. Ha ha. So I‘ll probably buy that one and read it in 2020! Anyway, I really like these books. The main character is a detective/former cop named Nils Shapiro. He‘s kind of a mess and a smart ass but a great detective!
This is the 25th book in the Faith Fairchild series. I have read all of them. I‘ve been reading these for years. I‘m not a good cook or baker but I have actually made some of the food from these books (recipes always included)! I love this series. 💕
OMG another body?!?!? Geez Louise 😲😳
I received an early copy of this book from the publisher.
I‘ve now read three books by this author and this one was by far my favorite. A truly great story and plot that kept me guessing from start to finish. And let me tell you, there were some jaw dropping twists near the end!! I really recommend this book. If you like suspenseful books you‘ll love this one.
“That night, when Graham, Karen and I did peyote, I remember telling myself that if the album was shit, I was gonna be okay. Because I could make spoons for a living. That logic wasn‘t sound, obviously. But the thought did stick with me. You can‘t put all your eggs in one basket.”
I had planned to read this one the week it was released, but life got in the way, so I‘m starting it this weekend. I had no idea that I was listed in the acknowledgments 😍
Finally!!! I desperately tried to get an advanced reader copy of this one but got rejected at every turn, so I was reduced to purchasing it 😊 hope it‘s good!!
Requested this one from the library so I‘m the first to read it!!
So far this is one of the most unpredictable books I‘ve ever read. I hope I can finish it today, I want to know how it ends!
Reading an ARC of this one and it‘s sooo good. I think it was already published in the U.K. Houghton Mifflin is publishing the U.S. version in March.
Hope to finish this one over the weekend! One of my favorite detective series 💕
This book is soooo good!! I can‘t wait to read more of his books. From what I can tell, many of them haven‘t been translated 😢
This book is fabulous!! I‘m going to post a longer review on Net Galley and Goodreads in the morning.
