You Can Only Yell at Me for One Thing at a Time
You Can Only Yell at Me for One Thing at a Time: Rules for Couples | Patricia Marx
4 posts | 6 read | 4 to read
The perfect Valentines Day or anniversary gift: An illustrated collection of love and relationship advice from New Yorker writer Patricia Marx, with illustrations from New Yorker cartoonist Roz Chast. Everyones heard the old advice for a healthy relationship: Never go to bed angry. Play hard to get. Sexual favors in exchange for cleaning up the cat vomit is a good and fair trade. Okay, not that last one. Its one of the tips in You Can Only Yell at Me for One Thing at a Time: Rules for Couples by the authors of Why Dont You Write My Eulogy Now So I Can Correct It: A Mothers Suggestions. This guide will make you laugh, remind you why your relationship is better than everyone elses, and solve all your problems. Nuggets of advice include: If you must breathe, dont breathe so loudly. It is easier to stay inside and wait for the snow to melt than to fight about who should shovel. Queen-sized beds, king-sized blankets. Why not give this book to your significant or insignificant other, your anti-Valentines Day crusader pal, or anyone who cant live with or without love?

Wine absolutely helps! 🍷Fun tidbits about relationships. Easy silly read. “Falling in love is easy. Agreeing on how to load the dishwasher is hard.” Amen!

TerriGreen Oh yes! Adding this one to my TBR. 4y

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It‘s a super quick read and is the perfect gift to give to your significant other. Also, given the quarantine, I think it‘s the perfect thing to read if you‘re stuck at home with them and need something to lighten the mood.
