Every bit as good as expected. Val believes her family is cursed—no one ever has any luck with love, something particularly devastating for someone who loves Valentine‘s Day…until she doesn‘t. Is she really fated to never find true love? She wonders & it‘s a question that comes into sharper focus when she meets a pair of cute lion dancers. Family secrets, friendship, falling into love (maybe?!?) combine in a wonderful story. An entertaining read.

Yang‘s stories never disappoint so I‘m anticipating a good read. 🤞

Sending hugs! This is an oldie but a goodie. Some of the characters are reluctant to hug, but knowing it's a delivery makes it okay.

This is an absolutely delightful young adult graphic novel, both the artwork and the story! I loved being immersed in the Asian culture and though I don‘t normally enjoy romance, I found this to be a believable and heartfelt love story. All about Valentine‘s Day, family, abandonment, but also showing up, lion dancing, second chances, friends, Rome and more! I was charmed. For Heartstopper fans.

ShelleyBooksie I loved it too! 1mo
MeganAnn I loved this one as well! 1mo

This is a sweet book about love, inspired by a famous poem. It follows a little girl who shows her love for everything around her. With simple words and colorful pictures, this book helps kids understand what it feels like to love deeply.

It‘s the “first” (okay, not the actual first!) boy/girl dance at SVMS. Lila‘s awful new neighbor, Veronica Brooks keeps bragging about her old school & has her competitive sights set on none other than Todd! And when Jessica ditches Aaron for Bruce, Liz consoles Aaron—& winds up kissing him! But for a #SweetValleyValentinesDay, Ellen hosts another boy/girl party where all the mixed-up couples can be set to rights! Make-up kisses & a food fight!

JenlovesJT47 This was always one of my faves! 2mo
TorieStorieS @JenlovesJT47 It‘s such a fun one!! Though despite their excitement, it‘s definitely not the first boy/girl dance! That was what Aaron Dallas did for his birthday back when the grandparents were in town! 🤣 2mo
JenlovesJT47 Lol I have read almost none of the earlier books, I am coming to realize. I know I read the Mandy Miller one where she‘s sick, then I started reading them in the 60s. I got earlier books here and there when I could, like the first 5 or so. So I‘m thoroughly enjoying this read through! 2mo
TorieStorieS @JenlovesJT47 I am having so much fun, too! I‘m coming up on some new to me books pretty soon, I think! I‘m looking forward to them!! 2mo
